so… today i wanted to release the final version of the maiden-map… but there were so much excellent ideas from beta-testing i will try to get them in the map…

but the map will be set final in a few days because i do not have the time to spend another 100h to this map

new beta 6 (no download):

  • forward flag (command-map icons dont work at the moment)
  • 2nd. ammo + health cabinet at forward-flag
  • another way from the mouth to the cave
  • constructabel mg’s
  • full lights

soul, i suggest you use drakir forward spawn prefab (Look in readme first), and then use socks explaination with oasis script. I see all your entities near forward spawn are called “forward spawn”, this isn’t right. Good luck

jep its possible, but read socks explanination first, accesable form the readme first, and then go to forward spawn.

bug hunting:

  • phong - terrain
  • mineable terrain
  • helicopter replaced… maybe there will be a truck
    -> new pics

today there is a final beta test on DI’s server.

the changes from beta4 to beta6 are completed now and the only thing missing are some small details to make the map a better look

the forward spawn in the current position will be tested tonight, i hope it will not be too easy for the allies now to get the maiden (oh yes… now there is a really good looking maiden in the prison … i hate gold!)

thx to all fans who loved the maiden at this stage, it is my first mapping project and i made a lot of mistakes (you will see them on bad fps) but the positive thing on that is, that you can see (sniper) from top of the “church” the whole map… thats a big malus for fps! next map i make will be planned for good fps.

because of the positive reactions of maiden-fans i got a lot of positive response to this project and a lot of changes suggested by “YOU” are in now…

the final map is planned to be released at my birthday the 5th sept 2003 -> this friday (20:00 gtm+1) i will open the download for final at my page

letz fraggle… and see you at rescuing the blond maiden…

hello maiden-fans …

beta-test completed, compiling completed, bug-hunting completed… the map is “FINAL” … ähmm i call it final because i do not have the time anymore (maybe in a few weeks there will be a final2, but i dont think so)

anyone who wants the source-map plz call “office@gerald.at”

new at “final” are 2 constructable mgs at allies side, one at axis side, better light effekts, no rain because of better fps, more ladders, capturable flag at the side of the volcano crater… some details at curch… and a church-window from a good friend of mine (moniren!)

thx to all who helped… NO thanks to all who i wanted to help but did not help!!! and a big kiss to SD for making such a great game (ID i love you too!)

this map was my first mapping project… i learnt mapping form absolutly noob to this map within 5 weeks …

have fun, enjoy the game…

and do not forget to download final today night at my site… i will tell you when compiling ist ready

maybe you have a old version… on the beta3 the command map is black… i asked for help but it is not easy to generate (or hand-draw) a nice command map for a outdoor map with 4 hight levels (generatetracemap looks very bad!)

but every help is welcome if you do not want to have a black map at final…[/quote]

This may be a little late but if you want a good command map maybe you could draw it out into quadrants…one quadrant for each level!
