[Map release] Cold Fort beta 1

Cold Fort beta 1
I’m Pleased to announce the release of my map’s first beta.
After several local and private server tests I’ve reached the point to release the map to the public.

The map is 24/7 playable at: 94.23.156.100:28005 with running ETPro.
For any suggestions/bugs and other things you would like to share you can respond here or PM me.

Quick map objectives description:
Axis have to blow the Main Gate and/or Side Wall to gain access to the basement of the fort where the Gold is located behind the Objective Door.
To quicker access they could capture the Forward Spawn inside of the fort.
In mean while the Allies have to defend the fort by constructing the Allied Fence and manage to keep the Objective Door closed at anytime.
Both teams have an option to construct the neutral Command Post.

Sorry for the late bump, I’m not going to create a whole new topic for this as it perfectly fits here.

Just to let you all know that there will not be another version of this map.
I lost all my files (even the backups!) in a major crash.

Sadly, this means that the beta version will also be the final version of this map.
I was only able to recover the files from the ZombieMod edition which I might release on a later moment.

I’m currently planning for a new mapping project which surely will be greater than Cold Fort.
Soon the first details about this project in another topic, first more planning to do.

If you want and have time, you may decompilate your map and re-adjust the textures :slight_smile:

If you used EasyGen or an other program with a .PCX for terrain, I’d suggest you this tutorial:

It is possible to get it back nicely, I did it for 1944 Huertgen Forest :slight_smile:

Thanks for your response, and I could indeed decompile it.
However, for the second beta I made many changes which I don’t remember since the changelog/buglist also became lost.

What I’m actually thinking about is, using the ZombieMod version as a base for the map itself. I will only need to redo all of the objectives since they were thrown out for the ZombieMod version.

For rockwalls and small pieces of terrain I already used that method so It’s still there! The greater parts of terrain were mostly changed into a model, which should be somewhere as it was used in the ZombieMod version of the map.
This might be for a later time, I currently have greater ideas for another project which will be very interesting! :slight_smile:

I liked the zombie version and I’m using it for my infected mod. Map was/is to confusing for objective but fits perfect as zombie map :slight_smile:
I hope sometimes a map with “fog” (like radar has) and night will come as zombie map.

Well, it was never released as far as I know. It was based around a hospital as I remember.

An amazing map that he did release is called: Library.

No sorry, I just can compile windows. Linux was made by Smurfer.
