I read the tutorials and stuff, but when I clicked on that SD Radient or whatever the link didn’t work. Can I make a map with anything and save it as .pk3? Will that not work? I mean, I dont want to start making a map and then have it not work.

Go to http://www.qeradiant.com to dl the edtior. GTKradiant 1.4.0 seems to be what most people are using for ET editing nowadays, you can find it in the files section.
And no you cant simply save a map as a .pk3 - you need to compile it and save it properly and write a script for it before it will work. It takes a good deal of effort to make a successful and functional map, but in the end it will (hopefully) be worth it.
