Why the hell my Gtkradiand says always Map Leaked. I’ve done my big box with tutorials and there’s no place where it can leak. Before all my maps work but now i try to make one, its LEAKED. So i need answer to that problem!
Map Leaked!?
You sure that your walls are structural and not detail? Detail walls do leak, unlike structural.
don’t plant trees on a structural brush. if an entity has to be inside of a brush, make the brush detail.
Okay, in the camera window go round the whole map (and beyond) to make sure there is not any brushes outside of the main cube you have.
Have a look at everything in your map and make sure they are all inside the cube.
Sounds stupid but hey, it can happen
I’ve noticed that if you put a model slightly into a structural brush,
you will get a map leaked error but the compile will continue.
When you double click on the error in the message window, it should highlight the problem in your 2-D and 3-D windows.
Unless it’s a real leak.
Then follow the thick red line to the problem.
Hope this helps
Open the .map, and load the point file into radient.
I cant remember which one is the point file, try those mapname.something files that are generated on compile.
There is no redline and there wont come error window. it just save the map littlebit and then comes: MAP LEAKED! is that normal that textures show to outside of box too?
Fireblast, hi.
What version of radiant do you use? Do you use version 1.4? I use that version myself.
Regarding texture on the outside
When you use version 1.4: to put texture on the whole surface (the whole brush): Hold Shift and click with left mouse button and add texture.
But, to put texture on just one (1) surface: Hold Shift and Ctrl and cilck with left mouse button (then add texture to that single surfare).
I never put texture on the outside of my skybox.
Regarding leak
Is it still possible for you to open your map in ET and play (run around in the map)? Or is it impossible to open the map?
Sometimes you can ignore the “Warning: Leaked”-message, if the map works.
When can we see a nice screenshot from your mapping project?
