map info

(shagileo) #1

hi guys!

so i’ve been in the mapping bussiness for some days now, and i would like to know now, how do i make the map info you see when your map is loading on a server. you know… e.g.:

1945: and the axis are building a big ass canon and bla bla
allies are attempting to blow it up with some fresh dynies bla bla bla …

would be cool to know. thanks anyway!

You need to create an arena file.
You can look at existing .arena files to see how they are built; they are located in the scripts folder.

For example, battery.arena:
I shortened the briefings / wintexts to keep it readable!!!

{
	map			"battery"
	longname		"Seawall Battery"
	type			"wolfmp wolfsw wolflms"
	timelimit		30
	axisRespawnTime		20
	alliedRespawnTime	20
	lmsbriefing		"Blablabla LMS briefing text."
	briefing		"Blabla briefing text."
	axiswintext		"Blabla Axis win text."
	alliedwintext		"Blabla Allied win text."
	mapposition_x	491
	mapposition_y	849
}

The first few lines are obvious I think?
The ‘lmsbriefing’ line is the text in LMS mode.
The ‘briefing’ line is the text you need.
The ‘mapposition_x/y’ lines are the position of the pin on the loading screen world-map.

Also, just for information, to use a linebreak you need to type a *.

This will*come out as a linebreak

Will look like:

This will
come out as a linebreak

I think that’s it… additional info can be found by searching :wink:
