Map Idea

Hey guys, I have a map idea, and wanted to get some feedback about the scripting part. My background on scripting isn’t too bad, but would like to know if my idea is possible. I’m 99% sure I can.

Map: Trailer Park Ballz
A knockoff of a popular Candadian show Trailer Park Boys
Setting: A trailer park w/ a nearby lake
Objectives: Axis on Offense, Allies Defending
Axis objective:

  1. The Axis must destroy the park’s water supply. There are several ways to do this.
    a. The simple way is to blow up the actual water tower itself. The location and access of the tower will make it a hard feat.
    b. The axis can cutoff the water tower’s water supply. There are two pumps at a nearby lake. The pipes that run from the water pumps converge at a switch, where the allies/axis can turn the switch to change the source of the water. If pump A is destroyed, and the switch is turned to pump A, then the water level at the water tower will start to decline. A full water tower can be drained in 30 seconds. The same thing goes for Pump B. If pump A is damaged, the allies can switch it to Pump B, and the water level of the water tower will rise until it hits maximum level.

So thats pretty much it. My original idea was just one pump, but I was thinking maybe to add a new dynamic to the map via the switch.

I was just wondering about the scripting of making the water level go up and down. So say if 10000 gallons = 1 second (to drain) and it’s a 30000 gallon water tower, I’d like to show 30 different water levels. So every time the pump that the switch is pointed to remains unfixed, the water level will go down one level per second. I’m guessing that would just be different spline points and just making a brush representing water, to go up and down. There will be messages outputted to, to notify people who currently can’t see the water tower and it’s level, of how much more water is in the water tower.

thx
