map builder?

Give me a proper map editor any day of week instead of these wannabe ones.
Would have to be like a 15$ expansion.

By itself. There isn’t a way that we could ask for this for absolutely nothing. Their studios are already starving I bet.
cough mod tools cough

maybe even modify shotguns to not kill but knock you down. so you could knock people off higher areas. just a thought

Probably easier to provide hammer based SDK instead of a specifically tuned map builder anyway ? I mean, if it’s a product on its own, then it would have been in the roadmap from start.

(.Chris.) #24

They already have their own editor, Arkitect or so, it’s based off EditWorld from ET:QW, they already have a comprehensive tool set/SDK however making it suitable for public use require some funding and effort, the question for Bethesda is whether or not it’s a worth while investment.

i wouldnt care if they charged for a map editor and let us share the maps they wouldnt need to make map packs to support the game and would give it a lot longer life span.

its one reason games like UT were so cool. thousands of maps from users, many of which were better than the dev maps.

plus devs loved the game so much some used to make their own maps packs in their own time! imagine that these days! free map packs years after release

MoP from Splash Damage made an ET:QW map and gave the source for his unfinished one away.

Personally, I want this for consoles because even though it would be more limited we can’t do it at all where PC can/will be able to.

And honestly I don’t see how it would be so hard to do, it could be something like a training enviroment or some piece of Ark they haven’t used just a standard plane with a set of building blocks and objective modifiers that come attached with basic voice commands programed for each team so it seems like an actual mission.

(.Chris.) #29

It wouldn’t be possible anyway without rewriting the engine to make an editor for the consoles in the way you describe.

Best case scenario is to release SDK on PC and allow certain content to be released on consoles.

Huh, yeah I don’t understand all of that jargon. But that sucks
