making rain

(Clutch152) #1

ok well google wont give me anything remotly close to what i need and SD’s search is still down so how do I get rain on my map?

this is what I have in my world spawn

key: atmosphere
value: T=RAIN,B=5 10,C=0.5,G=0.5 2,BV=50 50,GV=200 200,W=1 2,D=2000

Oh and yes my client atmospheric effects thing is on.
This is copied directly from radar and along with the sky

Is the ground in your map is nearly on the same level as the one in radar?
As far as I remember some of the parameters control where the rain begins to show.
Please take a look in the LevelDesignersReference (it’s in the help-menu of GTKRadiant).

oh dang I didnt see it in there last time I checked sorry bout that :’( Thx though

(Clutch152) #4

nope sorry I still cannot figure it out for the life of me.

Ive change the height of the skybox and I cannot find any setting to change the rain starting height. I have never seen a drop of rain on the map so I have no idea if I am close or not or if it even worked at all.

did you do a tracemap for your map?

(D3C0Y) #6

do a raindance while in game
maybe try a search i think this basis has been covered lots of times before

It’s actually in the LDR… See the docs folder in your W:ET install.

Like I said at the beginning, google wasnt much of any help at all and splash damage forum search is still down

I also said that the LDR didnt help me much because I have no refrence to where the rain actually is on the map if its there at all and I dont know wth to change to make it higher or lower. And I changed the height of the skybox and I got nothing from that and yes my atmostpheric effects are on.

LOL although I like the raindance idea and wth does a tracemap have to do with the weather?

See the tracemap like a “filter image”. Depending on it’s content, it’s raining in places of your map (usually outside) and blocks rain in buildings for example.

ok thx. ill have to try that later.
