i’m a noob my self but i find that the easiest way to make a hole in a wall (or box) if you want to make let’s say a window. Is to use the CSG Substract tool, it’s easy, make a brush the size of the hole, place it where the hole should be, click the CSG Substract button, and delete the brush.

Maybe thats a bad way do no? :???:

he he to fast for me  didn’t notice

somebody correct me if this is no problem with ET-Radiant anymore but my experience is that you should never use any CSG tool, somebody said it’s evil and i have to agree, it creates odd little brush-pieces and can create errors. they are not of much use anyway, everything they do can be done in about the same time with the clipper with some exercising

CSG has no bug or something, you only have to know where to use it and where not, if you use it like described to make a hole in a wall - fine, as long as the wall is just a single brush and has no decorations and stuff, have more complex brushwork and it will fuck up everything…

It makes crap brushwork even for making a hole in the wall.

Incidently, there are some other rather informative pages on that site:

Its the bane of the devil. If you want to create anything, do it using individual brushes, don’t touch that CSG Subtract.

(Chis) #13

I sometimes think I can get away with using CGS subtract everynow and then. Undo is my friend if things get bad.

Subtracting…
done. (created 176 fragments out of 22 brushes)

Doh!
