Make suggestions for possible game modes.

Brink should recycle maps. I am not talking about Dragon Age 2 map recycling. I am referring to adding new game modes to the already existing game maps. That is not to say that this game doesnt need new maps [specially with new colors] because it does, but adding a new game mode on 8 maps provides more re-playability than adding 2 new maps with the same game modes.

If there is one thing that call of duty did right (not a cod fanboy here!!) is that each and every single one of their maps has several game modes, capture the flag, domination, headquarters etc. Honestly this provides for a very large number of combinations of game modes and maps, and this is definitely something that SD should strive for.

So I wanted to make this thread to ask people to suggest game mode ideas. and who knows maybe someone here can suggest an idea that is implemented later on in brink.

Be prepared for the trolls who break out in hives whenever you put the letters C O and D together. Some people are afraid to improve this game.

I don’t think you get this game. Splash Damage tailors each map specifically. Each maps is the objective. It’s not “let’s make a map and spread objectives around”. Maps are designed with paths in mind, around objectives.

are you talking about game modes like TDM ,CTF etc.? Cause if you are Brink doesnt need any of that. Each map is like a million game modes rolled into one. Almost a bit like Kilzones’ Warzone mode.

But if you mean adding other objectives (which i doubt you do) then I’m all for that. But i think adding TDM CTF or anything like that takes away from brink what is great about it.

LMAO. I dont get this game? You do realize you are talking about a game that has ‘what if’ missions right? And are you suggesting that each map is incompatible with other games modes? hell no. Worst case scenario, they would do some twitching, but that would probably be minor.

  1. No i did not mean CTF, TDM.
  2. Even if I did, I would not be upset if they added those things. it is just more options for you to change gameplay. you wouldnt have to use it if you didnt want it.
  3. The maps do NOT have a ‘million’ game modes rolled into them. And some of the suck. Day 1 for resistance has only 2 objectives. One being the escort mission. and those escort missions are the worst. You have to keep walking alongside that slow dude and when he reaches a choke point it becomes hell on earth.

I agree. people think that because something is features in COD then it is taboo for other games. Call of duty DID do SOME things right. And just because they were part of call of duty does not mean they cant be implemented in Brink. based on that logic we would have to get rid of guns :smiley:

What does that have to do with what he said?

The ‘what if’ missions have their own maps.
They are also part of the story-line.

Anyways, the maps in their current state won’t make many game-modes to be fun.
Personally, I’d prefer modes where there’s more than one main objective, similar to how in reactor, you can hack one of the two vents. This at least keeps the shootouts varied by a bit.
Other then that, I’m blank on any real ideas.
