Make it that EVERYBODY will need to do the tutorial at least ONCE

(Orivar) #1

I am sick of the noobs (even on min 10) that cant look at their legs to see that I am down, or an arty that doesnt know how to throw an ammo pack. I think it will be a great idea to do that EVERYBODY will need to do the tutorial, even if a player is level 30+.

I dont care when you will release Dockyard and Gallery, I just want to have fun while waiting for Dockyard.

MANDATORY TUTORIAL WHEN?

(watsyurdeal) #3

Problem is it still doesn’t cover Engineers, why, I don’t even know.

We need a free engi at some point, having one every rotation isn’t enough. There needs to be one so people get a clear idea of ROLES.

I have made a smurf account to see how the level 5’s and below are doing.
God have mercy on them.
This needs to be mandatory.

The noobs dont play the objective even when they are using an engineer so it will be bad to give them proxy (if it will happen proxy will be free…)…

By that logic, we also need a free assault merc and a sniper, and trust me you don’t want a to see a free sniper…

But it would be nice if they refreshed the tutorial (again) and made it so it explains about all the roles, making it so the tutorial would involve a total of 3 mercs - Skyhammer, Aura and Proxy (Proxy won’t become a free to use merc)
The players should spawn as Proxy after all the movement and basics and stuff, the player will be required to plant a C4 and then defuse it, after that they will be asked to repair the EV (which will be repaired faster than usual so you don’t waste time) and after they escort it a bit, asked to switch to Skyhammer. When they are Skyhammer they will have to give ammo and then asked to destroy the EV with a single airstrike (if you don’t destroy it with one, the EV will be “healed” and you will get your ability back to try again). Then you switch to Aura and learn the revive and heal basics. After that you will be explained about all the other stuff such as credits, loadout cards and cases

After you complete the tutorial you will unlock 2 new things:
The assault course and the merc tutorial.
In the merc tutorial you will be able to choose any merc you want and have a special tutorial that is made just for that merc (which will last no more than 2 minutes)
For example: You want to study Phoenix. You will spawn in a pretty open building near a short barricade (at about knee height) which covers a downed teammate body, you will be asked to revive them and then heal them with the healing pulse, then you get killed and asked to use self-revive and kill the enemy.
It would be nice if new players get to try all mercs and see what they are before purchasing them or waiting for them to be on a rotation

I hope it will be in the game. But as you know, more mercs are much important then a fixed game  .
You forgot in the Skyhammer tutorial to make a room that he needs to drop ammo as fast as he can to players

Great idea by the way!

Still no clue why it isn’t a thing, I suggested it back in fucking August almost a year ago.
Yeah this needs to be a thing, I see no downside to having players learn the bloody game before actually going out there.

I like the assumption that it’s that people don’t know how to revive or throw ammo. Forcing people through the tutorial, while I’m all for it, probably won’t remove this from the game. You’ll still get ignored by an aura who is too focused on something else to notice, or isn’t really a very good healer but is trying to finish a support XP mission, etc.

That’s why we have 2nd gen loadout cards… to fund Engineer part of the tutorial.
