Make Dirty Bomb look even better! SweetFX

(modded) #1

Hey guys!

If you’ve never heard of SweetFX, basically it’s a SMAA injector that lets you make the game look better with a minimal hit to performance. It’s not a night-and-day difference, but an improvement nonetheless.

I grabbed a TF2 SweetFX config file and plugged it in, and it looks gorgeous!

To install it, do the following:

  1. Download SweetFX here: http://sfx.thelazy.net/static/media/downloads/SweetFX_1_5-23364.7z
  2. Dowload the config file here: http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/1274/
  3. Extract SweetFX to: Steam_Dir\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Dirty Bomb\Binaries\Win32
  4. Rename the second file you downloaded to “SweetFX_settings.txt” and place it in the aforementioned folder (overwriting the old file).

That’s it, go ahead and enjoy!

So where is the difference in this pic? o.O

Basically it does this…

Though i don’t see it in that screenshot :S

like ramping up saturation and contrast. I personally think it looks horrendous most of the time. Unless you like you people orange of course!

It doesn’t help that the left half is shadow and the right half has sun.

I think he was being lazy and never actually took 2 screenshots and merged them but looked for an example of the difference you could expect when using it.

I will take gray and wasted out any day!

F Graphics and colors. Give me 1000 Frames and Smooth play and a head to tink and I am good.

Incorrect, the following line exists in the SweetFX config file:

#define USE_SPLITSCREEN   1 //[0 or 1] Splitscreen : Enables the before-and-after splitscreen comparison mode.

I went with a lower-difference setting, because I like in general how Dirty Bomb already looks.

I notice a difference, some might not. You can change whatever you want, up to you.

Also, the most difference you can see is there on the brick wall, so you know where to look in that pic.
