Like many players I also think that the crafting system is broke and kills the only kind of progression in this game. Instead of listing the points why I dont like the system, ill just post this video that covers it.
We first have to ask why the devs wanted to change the loadout system. I think that the reason is very simple - MONEY. Its far more difficult to get high rarity cards with that high credit costs. Oh what do we have here ? - a wild crafting kit appears. Now to my idea on how to improve the situation. Go back to the trade up/ trade in system and instead of adding overpriced crafting kits, add a new type of case to the game that only contains custom designed loadouts ( like the special edition cards) and lets you pick one loadout you want for whatever merc you want. I think this would maintain the prestige of having a very rare cobalt card and would be very interesting for people that think spending 5€ on a elite case that contains a useless loadout which you will trade up (meh recycle) most of the time and even if you craft a card with the help of elite cases and crafting kits its very unlikely to get the loadout you want. The problem is that its not difficult to get a high rarity card. The difficult thing is to craft a good loadout in combination with a high rarity. At the current state you can spend tons of money and still not get the dreamloadout you want and thats my biggest problem with this system. I already spent money on dirty bomb because there arent only bad offers. The bundles are really good and I think that they are priced fair, but if you already have most mercs there is almost no appealing offer left (except trinkets which I also like to buy). I would really like to continue spending money on dirty bomb and support splash damage because I rally think that dirty bomb is a grate game and could even be grater if they balance some stuff and take care of the performance. If splash damage added this new type of case, they would have to rework the price ratio of course. I think that the special/ collectors cases should be around 15€ and be the main dish. Elite cases should be the half of the current price.
