Make dem OBJECTS! (Hack/Repair/DIsarm mechanics)

i started to think of how we can remake the object mechanics - so they can again become interesting.

2 things that bug me most:
engies are no longer precious for their team, and we have chars that make objects for a very long time.( ill call them medics.)

this is very boring thing to do. you dont shoot, you dont run, just stop for a minute doing nothing but watching stupid bomb/ev/computer being i-phoned or pilered.

i suggest that medics will have a repair robot/drone/hack devise that will ALMOST NEVER repair/hack by itself but will surely help engie/covert to do it.
while this device is on medics will be able to shoot, but they cannot run away far from it.

So, medics cannot hack by themselves, only by a very slow chack/repair device.
So the team still needs a Engie/Covert

I also thought about intermediate variant. where char can choose whether to set up this device or to hack faster by himself. <<-- still not sure about this. because he could have use both simultaniously.

If repair drones are implemented, it will be on a new engineer with lower hp or slower repair/build/disarm because he can defend himself while doing these actions.

I don’t see why medics would get repair drones. It’s not their job to repair stuff, they should not even attempt it unless they have a clear shot at it and this is the purpose of classless objectives with proficiencies. How many times in W:ET I was by the objective, alone, waiting for my team to come here and do it … now I can master a duel on objective and help building the objective, whoever my merc is.

The problem with the single guy who matters is that no one wants to take him/her for a whole map and this is even more true in pub. Everyone wants to get cool K/D ratios and they leave the objectives out. You have certainly already been in one of these games where you can pwn the enemy team but you still loose the game in the end.

Though not what we are used to, I believe the classless system can work but it is unprecedented and thus has to be experimented on and improved, which is exactly what they are doing right now (thx SD for focusing on core elements, objectives and multiple ways objectives !)

EDIT : if done right, the class guys will matter again since they are way faster than the others at objectives, and medics won’t have time to go repair stuff if they have to support the team correctly. You should be happy man, this is exactly what you are asking for xD

I don’t see how this is different from class objectives. The same issues still apply.

the time to repair still has to be significant. it is an object anyway. so there deffinitely wont be insta-repair engies.
the point of repairing an object is that you become vulnerable. if it is 10 seconds - it is ok, but if its 20+ seconds noone will ever do it and consider it fun.
