Major disappointment so far

Hi Splash Damage,

I want to use this thread to let you know that I’m very disappointed with the migration to Nexon so far. I mean we had it all, a great forum (this one), stable servers, great overall gameplay. Now I feel like we just made 2 steps back with the whole package…

I got the following issues:

  • When I join a server now I can’t even play because of the warping. (don’t know if everyone experience this, but I’m talking for myself right now)
    And here comes the this that annoys me the most

    Focused on US instead of EU. Don’t get me wrong, I want the US guys to play fluently, but the biggest part of the community right now is EU. So the focus imo must be in the EU.

  • The Nexon forums are dead as hell because the staff is US…
    Maybe they should hire some EU dudes to take care of business for them since the majority of the Alpha Players (currently all the beta players) are from the EU.

  • The Nexon forums mechanics are useless. I mean, who would put a forum in Iframes just because you want to keep showing your ‘BUY NEXON CASH’ buttons… Also, lots of functions are missing, but they have reported already in other threads.

  • I wanted to write something about the gameplay here. But It’s prolly due the lagging/warping. So I can’t tell yet.

For me, this migration is a HUGE step back for the overall game development. And luckily for you/Nexon I’m ‘just’ an alpha player and not the majority.
But I really do HOPE that there will be lots of changes, very soon.
I know you guys (SD) are working your ass of, and I have all the trust that you will fix it. But for now It’s just Nexon screws things up.

the game is the same there was no patch. So if you have been playing the last couple of patches, nothing has changed.

Nexon forums are dead because they are probably still setting it up or not everyone has signed up for them and has nothing to do with them being yanks.

Try playing through the old DB launcher, I think potty was doing that lastnight and had less issues

First week… game’s the same… all I can tell is that the servers need an upgrade on their side. Why the long post?

I just think they’re overrushing things… But that don’t work out. They should worked longer on the CB release and give the migration tool when everything is at least as smooth as it was in alpha.

What I dont get is, why the hell do they have such a bad forum? The beta got delayed by 2 weeks, there should be enough time to get a decent forum running. The CEO of Nexon America is a part of this community here, he does know the forum here and why doesnt he want to copy this forum (layout etc)? Right now I have the feeling, the CEO of Nexon America is looking for cheap money.

Their forum layout sucks, but so does almost every game forum I’ve used aside from SD. SD needs to give em tips.

It’s more than just the layout, there are glaringly obvious bugs on there that anyone that uses it should be able to pick up on. My problem with the forums is how amateurish they look and behave, this is a defining stage in Xt’s development where a hefty amount of people are going to get access… only to be met with a buggy ‘fansite’ forum. I mean the fact it takes 2hrs to get access when creating your username is bad enough, but waiting those 2hrs to be met with errors and issues will sour peoples tastes before they even get to game feedback. Nexon need to take this serious and get a grip on this, it’s SD’s reputation they’re messing with here.

Absolutely. The white and sterile look alone is a big bummer for me, though I thoroughly doubt, that we could do much about it. SD’s open forums are also white, but with a lot more (warm)colors; especially orange and warm-grey tones. I kinda feel at home here :slight_smile:

As for the migration, of course there were going to be bugs. I was resigned to that fact once I found out there was going to be a migration. It’s just the way things are, it will improve.

As for the servers, Nexon have said it’s their priority to get the servers stable ASAP.

They are working on this but they didnt touch EU servers even tho the majority of players is EU :smiley:

I suspect they have more control stateside that they do over here. They more than likely chased both regions at the same time but are having delays getting shiznit done in the EU side.

I’m not having warping issues. I know their server infrastructure is being worked on. That is just an issue you could guess would happen. Honestly, the only person I saw warping was from EU on a US server and not even that much… Most of the higher ping players seemed fine.

I don’t know why you think they need to focus on either community. They need to satisfy both, clearly. How they do it isn’t going to be what is most convenient for us, it is going to be what works best for them. Just because EU has more players doesn’t mean EU should get priority. In any case you guys shouldn’t be crying about that since you’ve had a swell time actually getting to play on filled servers in your region. Just be patient til they figure things out.

The nexon forums don’t appear to be dead… just not in full swing either. The forums work fine though. They aren’t the best forums ever so hopefully they’ll improve them. I don’t know why you think they’ll hire people from the EU just for beta testing. That’ll probably come later if it does at all. Not sure why specifically you need this. I don’t think SD hired someone from the US during the alpha to “take care of business”.

Personally, the migration has been mostly smooth for me. Launcher worked fine, even though that appears to be a beta product as well… I think. Game installed fast. Launched faster than ever before (no stupid 5 minutes of verification thank god). So at the very least it hasn’t been ENTIRELY a step back. Getting rid of that verification thing is a HUGE step forward imo, even though it seems like a small thing. It is a big deal in the long run for getting people to give the game a try.

This forum sucks as well. Admittedly it’s way better than Nexon’s, but the space wasted due to avatars, awards and signatures is really bad. I’m using my monitor in vertical layout (1200 x 1900) and I see 8 lines of fresh comments (+ 6 cited lines) scrolling up a little. On top of that, there are many whiny comments in here, and you have to wade through all of that because there’s no voting system (like Reddit’s for example). Keeps me from reading this forum.

Might be your resolution settings.

We don’t really need a voting system… that is just silly to me. The reputation system is fine because it is somewhat anonymous. We don’t need people downvoting, the internet is filled with enough negativity.

You’re completely right about whining though lol… like “OMG DEV NO RESPOND IT HAS BEEN 3 HOURS!” type of comments.
