Lower level cap - done for a reason.

My theory behind this was basically because of balancing issues. Take MAG for example.

The level cap was at 70, and you were fairly beast when you reached this level, because now you’ve unlocked pretty much everything you wanted to. However, if a level 1 and a level 70 met in a firefight, and they both were similar in talent, the level 70 would cream the level 1.

So essentially my theory is that the lower level cap gives incentive and customization features without giving higher leveled players a ridiculous advantage.

Then again I haven’t played Brink yet, and this is just my theory based on what I’ve heard.

It has nothing to do with balance, it’s all about diversity. If you increased the levelling cap all the builds would start to look more alike because you can include more of the same pool.

The low level cap ensures your build is somewhat unique.

I guess that’s true too, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say balance has nothing to do with it.

A higher level cap gives higher leveled players a much bigger advantage over newer players considering their numerous investments into unlocks and skills, but as well the diversity of builds between players decreases.

Personally I think the ranking system is stupid and everything should be unlocked at the start. Making a character “build” is entirely useless since every classes usefulness depends entirely on the map.

From what I saw after looking at the trees and playing every map the only worthwhile classes to level up are medic and engineer. Solidier and Spec op perks have nothing to help them do the objective. They are just both support classes with nothing really special. Spec ops especially since they are designed to be more of a solo class.
