Low performance setting

I’ve played RAD Soldiers a couple of weeks now, and altough an awesome game, I can’t help too feel frustrated over the general lag in the game. I’ve searched the forum for others complaining about this but they’re either shy or make do (or are non-existent). The weird part is that in the actual gameplay, with several 3D-models, textures and animations, the game rarely lags, if at all. But when I’m in the menus, man is it a lag-vaganza. And I have a hard time seeing why I would trade laggy performance for flashy menus.

So my simple (at least from where I’m standing) suggestion is that you include a low performance-option (you can even call it a battery saving-option for good measure), that could turn of the animations in the menus (it seems like they’re the biggest culprit), and maybe reduce texture resolution or model detail or something else performance chewing in the game itself.

I really hope you would implement something like this in the near future so that awesome gameplay won’t be held back by choppy frame-rate.

I have a thread under user interface frustrations, where I too addressed the irritable menu’s, especially within the barracks. And the non-user friendly soldier management.

Out of interest, what devices are you playing on?

Seen the game on a iPhone 3 and there the game was a pain compared to iPhone 5

The only frustrations I have is the “loading” lag which he might be referring to. When I enter the “Play online, Challenges, Expansions” screen, the “quick game” button is usually flashing but there is a period of lag where it appears to be loading something. Takes 5-10 seconds sometimes where nothing is touchable till it’s “done” with whatever it is doing. Then if you click Play online, there is a 10-20 second lag while waiting for the games to load. While always maintaining close to max number of games, having this happen every single time is frustrating. If I try to drag too soon, most of the time it registers that I tapped on one of the buttons on the screen, then I have to go back, and wait again for it to load. I’ve got out of the habit of using that screen altogether when I have matches waiting I just use quick play as it takes me into each match 1 by 1 and is far faster than waiting on all the loading times before and after every match on the “play online” screen.

iPhone 4 initially but I just upgraded to an iPhone 5. The lag isn’t as bad especially now since I am on 4G LTE at home and at work, but there is still an annoying pause on the multiplayer screen while everything loads where you basically can’t touch the screen or it will get mistakenly taken as a tap then you have to go back and let it reload again if you left that screen on accident. I can live with it though.

Yeah, I’m playing on an Ipod Touch 3 so I’m probably at the very low end of the spectrum. However I still find it amazing that the 3D-gameplay doesn’t lag at all most the time but the menus does. It just seems so unnecessary… And everyone likes more battery life!
