Just wanted to say I’m really enjoying the reduction in spread & recoil to various weapons along with other weapon changes in the recent update, including to aimpunch. Feels like a nice emphasis on aiming rather than spamming. Dreiss feels great!
love the recent update!
I have to disagree with you. Now there is less emphasis on recoil control and all weapons feel the same, basically forcing you to play the weapon with highest DPS to be able to compete. Crotzni is now everywhere and is clearly outgunning everything else. Shotguns became useless, as spread on assaults and especially smgs is gone, making all automatic fire hit while you’re pumping the next shell on your shotgun. I think this fine tuning update has unbalanced more stuff than it has actually helped.
People complained about the recoil, aimpunch, spread but those were all things that balanced out weapons. Now it’s just crotzni or nothing…

Except that you are wrong.
Crotzni ain’t the best smg anymore since it got nerf. Now it feels like the Crotzni and SMG-9 are more equal and feel like Timik And M4… and speaking about timik, it feels a lot more better now, its not as accurate as m4 but its a lot more better then it was before, now people can actually aim with that thing.
Ahnuld is now a lot more better thanks to animation change, making it smoother.
Remburg is still amazing and Hollunds is still ####.
The K-121 is now more usable. But i don’t think that the recoil decrease on Dreiss helped much at all, it still has same dps as the m4 but is harder to use (i would like if they increased the fire rate just a little bit on Dreiss)
Grandeur is still kinda meh, thanks to inconsistent damage and high recoil, spread is ok.
Burst rifle buff was, good, but i still would like to see the BR-16 with 30 mags and Stark AR with better damage.
So no, the update was not bad, it made a lot more weapons viable. Crotzni in other hand is not the KING anymore, or at least not the only best viable option ever.
It’s annoying how you just state that I’m wrong and give impressions basing nothing behind it. I actually went and tested all spread and recoil patterns in-game and no matter how much you say that I’m wrong it won’t change the fact that crotzni is right now the only smg with a straight linear upwards motion. all other flicker left and right or just right, and none has as little recoil as crotzni.
Now regarding all weapons being more viable with less recoil, that is bull shit. They were all viable before but now, even 7year olds will be able to kill with them as the eye to hand coordination required to control them has been reduced to almost zero.
I wanted to play this game and get my ass whopped by good players, not by grand-mas and newcomers who have never touched an FPS in their life. Increasing hp on the “tube noob” merc and speed on the health points bag wasn’t enough for calling the masses. No, they had to make it so simplified that little to no skill is required.
Recoil and spread management is part of the FPS culture. Removing it is removing all appeal and challenge from an FPS to me. Hence, until it’s changed, I’m moving to greener pastures. You have fun with your illusion of more weapon diversity, but I’m not that easily duped.

Well if you get rekt by newcomers then the fault is in you, not in the weapons, i still can mass kill new and old players just like always. (and then i get killed by better players and better organized teams)
Weapon feel hasn’t changed much… seriously, do you think that 5% change is as big as 50% change? weapons are slightly easier to control now but with weapons like Timik this made a real big change.
Crotzni was the only best smg before the update (which i can argue with because i could kill more people with hockfir than with crotzni and this is more about play style than weapon power or DPS) but now other smg are bit easier to control.
you also seemed to miss the reduced speed on noob tube merc that can be easily countered with almost every merc?
It seems that you are writing this in pure anger. Have you been losing last 100 matches after the update?
@Lumi
I don’t think 5% or 10% is gonna make a substantial difference as you claim it does such that newcomers and veterans alike are kicking your butt . I’m might be wrong though. I think splash damage is going about this the right way by “fine-tuning” instead of massive overhauls (except in the case of Phantom)
I’m frustrated that this kind of dumbing down is happening over and over in every game I’ve invested my time in for the last past 5 years. And it’s not that I’ve been losing. I’ve been winning all my games since the update, but the game doesn’t feel satisfactory. You either “play the game” and use the new buffed weapons or stick to the shotguns and can’t compete with the new added precision. I’m not satisfied with this, I’ve experienced it many times before, held on to the game for a while but it never brought me fun again. I’m afraid that my best times on DB are over. I’m glad I didn’t spend anything on this. I wanted to, it was good. But once more it disappointed me. Unfortunately I was right to wait and see before I gave this game my financial support…

I can understand that, i personally think that the weapon balance is bit flawed too, which is why i made dedicated post for that, giving suggestions for balancing and new ideas.
However it could be worse.
I personally liked the balance patch, but there are a lot more things to balance and the balance is not certainly over. (shotguns and snipers are currently the most unbalanced ones, moa dominating over felix in everything and shotguns having alot of issues.)
I have not given up hope yet, but i can understand why you have.
However, since the game is evolving, thanks to the f2p model, you can quit playing anytime and come back later to see if its gone better or worse after updates to come.

What did I just read?
They just nerfed the Crotzni, what on earth are you talking about? It’s weaker now.
Shotguns got a small nerf, and the Remburgh actually got a sizeable buff.
And automatics? They nerfed the M4, which is great, and they fiddled a little bit with everything else. ~5-7% changes are barely anything, I think you’re overemphasizing.
