Losing sound effects on specific map: Refuel

(AyexeM) #1

When joining a multi-player game on a server running the map refuel. All sound effects drop out. No shooting or voices or movement sounds.

The only sounds come from entities in the map that emit sound, like generators or spawn sentry guns. While the issue occurs other people report the same issue.

Here is a YouTube video of a commentator having the same issue (1:15)

You can hear the beep from the spawn sentry guns.

Yea several people I know are experiencing this, myself included.

Seconded. I’ve taken this map out of my server vote/rotation because of the bug. Sound returns once you exit the server.

I have this problem on all maps it seems. I lose all sound… Except the sounds of the charter voices played through my headset(not my main speakers)

Yup the sound on refuel does not work. The only time I can hear sound is in the hangar and also at the spawn but the sound is still only background noises.

Every game I’ve played on refuel has had sound drop out. Also, the ‘invisible enemies’ thing seems to happen frequently on this map- in fact I have only heard people complain about it on this map.

Can’t play a minute on this map without losing sound, neither can a friend I’ve been playing with.
It happened on another map once also, although I’m unsure what map it was.

We are aware of this issue and are investigating it. No further information is required.

I also had this problem. Someone on the Bethsoft boards provided a solution and it worked for me.

I will link the thread:

but here is what he recommended. It solved all sound issues for me which was exactly what you guys are saying.

Try disabling all VOIP options, hopefully that will work for you if you haven’t already tried that.

On the server I administrate VOIP is disabled by default and this issue has occured only on this particular map. This is only my observation.
