looking for a kind of a model viewer

i am looking for a program in which i can load a model and look at it from any angle (defined by numbers i can type into a console) and i wanna make screenshots of it, but not like windows screenshots where i have to cut out everything around the thing i wanted to have.

i do always a little map and add the model - with a blue box - then i delete the blue areas - so i get quite good results
but a model viewer where you can type a angel - dunno
the best model viewer i know is of uje C

ha!..
i just made it possible to hide the skybox in my tool…
If the skybox is switched off, a 2-colored background is displayed instead…
The user can change these colors… (perhaps making them the same to have just 1 background-color?)

can ya make it possible to look at in from a certain distance and angle typed into a console?
would be very useful

Not by typing 3 values for X,Y & Z :frowning:
Only by mouse-control. (drag, left-click, right-click + ctrl-key, shift-key)

In IrfanView, you open one picture in a directory and with the arrow-keys you can switch to the next picture which is located in the same directory. Could you add somethong like that to your viewer? Very often i am looking for a model, but i just know how it looks like but not its name so i have to open every single directory and every single model to find it. I almost could use the radiant for that but it doesnt save the directory to the last choosen model like your program does so i use your viewer.
If it isn’t possible to add smth like that, could you mayby add shortkeys to open the directory window faster?

hm that program is nearly ok ^^
when i am making screenshots of different angles of an model, then there still is some rest i have to cut away.
and it will be difficult to make all screenshots of those different angles with the same origin.

is there a plugin that auto-makes screenshots, like ET can do?

maybe use keyboard for rotation if possible

it is possible but screenshots should be taken automatically that all shots fit together

Good idea Zer0Cool, i will look into it. shortcuts for easy access…
isbowhten, taking transparent screenshots can be made without too much effort. i’m now rendering to screen, i should render to memory, and save it as a TGA then… or many TGA’s… I’ll give it a go.

Maybe You do not need it anymore, isbowhten, but nevertheless… here is a version that can make screenshots (transparent TGA), and lock the view…
