London Bridge - Barricade 3 Objective

I’m currently of the opinion that it has become too difficult to build the 3rd barricade as the defending team on London Bridge. The main reason being the distance traveled by attackers and defenders from their respective spawns to the objective is negligible.

Add in the fact that people have played enough rounds that they know to just charge ahead and clear out the area, while one or two people escort the EV, it’s almost a non-factor.

I can’t remember the last time I saw it built successfully, and add on to the fact the attacking team needs to have secured both data cores before the defenders can even begin construction – and they’re likely all dead or still at Activision Headquarters, and the chances of constructing are pretty against the defenders.

Just my 2 cents, though.

As is my biggest pet peeve with EV objectives, the route’s they go are a PITA. They start off near offence and are far away for the def to get to, but once you travel some distance, it’s far away for the offence to travel to and too close to the defence… the pain in the arsedness is magnified by the fact the EV literally passes right by defence spawn twice! Remember how much of a pain in the arse it was when the robot passed by the defence spawn on Container City in Brink? Please stop doing that.

As for the 3rd barricade, I’m glad it’s difficult to construct… the offence have enough to deal with without that final hurdle where the def have any number of ways to flank them offence.

Agreed on the former.

As for the latter though, there’s literally a window of like 20 or 30 seconds to construct it before the EV passes it (best guesstimate) and considering the distance and the scenario when you’re actually able to construct… it seems a bit too much to me.

The third one is really difficult. In a PUG, it really depends on some luck for your engi. If he dies and spawns at the data core obj right before they finish it, he’s screwed. That’s either a 12~ second respawn + run, or trying to run all the way to the barricade. Even if the engi is alive when the data core obj is finished, it’s still hard to reach the barricade in time. He would have the same run time as the offense, or he would have to respawn with a long wait.

Really the only way to get the obj is if you get lucky and your engi just happens to have everything go his way.

I think the problem is that the attackers spawn right next to the datacore and obstruct the route for defenders to fallback. So they are forced to respawn and then it becomes a race to the barricade.
