Localisation Feedback: Closed Beta Update V37682

(Silvanoshi) #1

Hi folks,

With the menu, Loadout and crate systems coming online today, we’ve got a whole host of text in the game. We have done one localisation pass on said text, but it’s entirely possible that there’ll be some rough/odd language in the translations that go live with this release. If you come across something that you believe to be odd, please feel free to drop your feedback into this thread.

When leaving your feedback, please let us know the following:

[ul]
[li]Where the text appears
[/li][li]What’s odd about it
[/li][li]Any suggested improvements
[/li][/ul]

Once we have your feedback, we’ll make another pass for a future update.
Thanks everyone,
Silvanoshi

this count for all languages? Im asking because at axeso5 was terrible the translation to portuguese and spanish

(Mustang) #3

Haha, AFAIK there hasn’t been a community translation to portuguese/spanish, but presumably no-one would be opposed to correction suggestions, they should all want it to be as accurate as possible.

(Silvanoshi) #4

Yes, please feel free to provide feedback on the Axeso 5 localisation. If there are any specific pieces of text that are odd/wrong, please feel free to let us know.

Regards,
Silvanoshi

No reports of oddities or poor translation in the latest build? Great! The translators must have done a perfect job ;)!

the game from axeso5 no longer exist anymore so i didnt have a chance to check the new patch and also the translations!

(Silvanoshi) #11

Hmmm, I’m not sure what you mean by that. They will still be releasing Dirty Bomb.
It would be great if you could send me a Private Message (PM) with further details about what you mean.

Cheers,
Silvanoshi

He means it’s not possible to play the Axeso5 version at the moment because they only let people play for a few days a couple of times a year.

(Glottis-3D) #13

this reminds me of…i dont know…something familiar…

The entire closed beta stage was something like 20 days, and actually the game is no longer available at axeso5. this patch never was released at axeso5.
this means i can’t have a chance to check if the translation to spanish/portuguese is getting better or not.

Just noticed this in the last game I played: VSAY text appearing in a foreign language in the chat window but playing in English over the audio.

Beside those German examples, earlier in the same game I also saw a French “L’ennemi est affaibli” fly by.

And just to confirm…which language do you have the game set to?

(DB Genome editor) #18

English, and all the audio bits played correctly in that language, regardless of the language in which the text appeared in the chat.

(Mustang) #19

I wonder if it could be that you changed language and then went back to English?

(DB Genome editor) #20

Nope. I checked out the French version a bit when it first came out, but quickly switched back to English (even if it is my first language, I’ve never gamed in French, so it felt alien like a translated movie :o). I’ve never touched the localization settings since.
