Lobby & Vsay

[SIZE=2]A couple of ideas and some thinking about the lobby and Vsay as they are two features used a lot, better give a lot of feedback to improve them.[B]

Lobby[/B][/SIZE]

The lobby is kind of a nice idea, but currently it has flaws that could easily be improved on. Here is a list of suggestions:

  • Put names on the lists of players (offense / defense)
  • Reduce the lock in time by a third and the second timer by half, we spend way too much time in the lobby
  • Put a cooldown on the button to change team (2 sec ?)
  • Make the global/team chat buttons dongles integrated with the chat container itself, would look better.
  • Put a different background color for each list of players (offense / defense).
  • Side menu or placeholder with personal stats ? (both last match and general, click on it to make it appear/hide, comes as an overlay)

Vsay

The vsay has been an issue for me since the beginning I believe, and mostly because you cannot do anything when you are incapacitated or dead:

  • Unable to spam call for medics when incapacitated (they are just next to you, but they never see you …)
  • Unable to notify quickly the team of anything
  • Unable to insult or boast (<- most important feature)

Why disable it when we are incapacitated or dead ? This is the only moment (with the end game lobby) when you have time to use the Vsay to its full extent. I would like to be able to use the Vsay in death, lobbies and when incapacitated.

Also should it be allowed for a player to spectate the players of the other team unless he/she is in spectator mode ? Because if yes I see no reason to block the vsay then.

the lobby is fine for random pub games AT THE START, but forcing us to join the lobby midmatch before actually getting into the game is redundant, and causes problems. i personally cant join a game in progress 50% of the time because of some loading loop that spams some _UI process in task manager, not to mention how silly it is that i have to wait 15 seconds while hearing everyone in the server.

Raste, I think it’s bugged already (probably since alpha?) - the stuff was temporarily sporadically working iirc but then got removed or bugged again afaik.

Surely they will correct these, but they seem to not prioritize it too high. Look at chat bugs - they are still unfixed since the 1st freaking alpha build.

I thought a quick reminder of this could go in the same thread as my feedback on the lobby :slight_smile: hope this will get fixed
