the loadoutsystem is “okish” to me. not bad, but not good either.
the biggest issue to me is the radndomness that doesnt let me adapt a merc to my playstyle.
so heres my 5 cents:
the loadoutsystem should:
- gain some bucks for DB without making the game PayToWin
- bring some level of customization and individualization
- make it possible to adapt a merc to playstyle
- give a kind of feel for progression.
Leave everything as it is but add a “trade arguments” - option.
Example:
i trade 3 silver cards into one -> choose one for the weapons ( you shuldnt be able to mix weapons cos this needs to stay balanced, plz dont go too far on this one ) and then take 3 arguments from the other 2 cards. same price as trading bronze into silver. … voila: a merc that suits my playstyle.
open a cosmetics and apeearence shop
what about sunglases for my merc, a nice moustace, cool baggypants ( or hotpants for proxy ), socks in sandals for my merc, cool hats and helmets… take cosmetics away from loadouts and let us throw our money ( or playtime ) at you.
( one thing i liked about brink was that i could realize players by there outfit - no need to point at someone to know that XYZ is covering me )
