loadout drop percentages?

(Koyotea) #1

i’ve traded up Nader cards at least 6-7 times trying to get a decent one WITHOUT the stupid cricket bat, but yet i always get a cricket bat. what’s the deal? what’s the percentage of receiving a stilnotto to a fucking cricket bat? i feel like trading up should be SOMEWHAT customizable, like being able to choose a preferable weapon, because this is extremely frustrating. i feel like i’m wasting my loadout cards on a stupid gamble without any say on what kind of loadout i need. the randomization is fine, but let us at least pick one aspect of the loadout we’re looking for!

A general guide with patterns that I have observed seems to go something like this:

Each merc has 9 loadout cards. Each merc has 3 primary weapons, 3 pistols, and 3 melees.

For each of their three primary weapons, they have three loadout cards.
Let me use a code to explain:

Weapon A, B, and C are all primary weapons for Arty.
Weapon 1, 2, and 3 are all secondaries for Arty.
Melee X, Y, and Z are also all melees for Arty.

The combos would be something like this:

Loadout Card A1X, A2Y, A3Z
Loadout Card B1X, B2Y, B3Z
Loadout Card C1X, C2Y, C3Z

Basically you can use any primary with any secondary. As for melee, they all used to be identical, but with a recent change to the cricket bat, I’m not sure how melee balancing will work anymore.

Regardless, the only disadvantage of the cricket bat is ~2.5% slower run speed with it out, compared to the other knives, which is no big deal.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, as this is all from my experience.

EDIT: Turns out, according to this page (http://dirtybomb.gamepedia.com/Arty), Arty does have 9 loadouts, but only two for the BR-16 and four for the Stark. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

DOUBLE EDIT: Turns out that may be outdated, according to this OTHER wiki page (http://dirtybomb.wikia.com/wiki/Arty_(Merc)). I know for certain that it isn’t four starks, I made a nuch of Arty cards, and I only got a Stark 2 weeks ago. ¯_(ツ)/¯¯_(ツ)

The only merc so far that doesn’t follow the 3/3/3 split for the primary weapon is Sparks: 4 with Empire-9 vs only 2 with Tolen. However it is much more common to see 4/3/2 splits for the secondary and melee weapons. But that’s not the case with Nader’s cricket bat which has the “standard” 1/3 distribution.

Best option is to pay 17,500 credits for the one you want. I tried to get the one Rhino card with the Nitros augment, gave up, and just bought it.
