Lmao..... horse?

(naedae) #1

no, not u HORSE, although i’d like to hear ur opinion as well.
anyways , i had a crazy thought just now.
how cool would it be to play horse with ur frend ( but allow me to explain ). so say you and ur buddy are in a private match…, just the two of you. you guys are both using a light character. you show ur buddy a parkour move like a wall to wall slide jump and he has to mimic it. if he fails, he gets a letter “h” and u guys can take turn. so its similar to “skate” but instead of skateboard tricks, ur doing parkour tricks.
just something i thought would be pretty fun doing but im sure lots of ppl will say its r3tarded but watevr.

but, is the parkour advanced as in u have to be skilled to do the crazy moves? or else this wouldn’t work.

When I started reading your post I thought about how cool it would be if you could ride a horse in BRINK. Now THAT is an interesting idea!

(A.i) #3

My first thought was that one of the two players becomes a horse…

(tokamak) #4

This is my new favourite thread.

(Fluffy_gIMp) #5

'tis certainly an interesting idea.
…and yep to answer your question there are more skill based jumps you can pull off with the right timing and moves… of course who can predict what crazy stuff you folks will come up with once the game is out.
We’re still quietly impressed by (and could never have foreseen) the crazy stunts guys like DarkangelUK were able to pull off in the Enemy Territory games.

(tokamak) #6

Does that same momentum mechanic still apply in Brink?

(Herandar) #7

I remember hearing the phrase “diminishing returns” several times in articles about SMART a while back. I get the impression that momentum will not work like in the trick videos that I have watched.

(Nail) #8

sounds like an idea for a challenge

(PsYcHo) #9

Sounds interessting! Would be cool to see that in Brink.

(TAPETRVE) #10

Well, just play BRINK with a touch of Old Spice in your armpits. You’ll be on a horse in no time.

(Maawdawg) #11

Then Bethesda could put out horse armor DLC again!

(obliviondoll) #12

You could always go for “ground is lava” if you want to play parkour games in Brink…

Heavies might not play along though…

They’re watching you… Run!:stroggtapir:

I’m looking forward to getting my teeth into Brink. I still think a defrag style mod would be awesome.

(Realirony) #15

this is a cool idea. and I’m sure we’re gonna see crazy vids posted on youtube of people pushing crazy combos. and since you can shoot while jumping, sliding, vaulting, itll be even crazier to string things together. The ingenuity of players usually exceeds what developers first think can be done with the game, as evident by what Fluff said.

I’m excited

(Ragoo) #16

I imagine a heavy version of this game would be fun. Pulling off the sick trick jumps like climbing a bench

(ed lolington) #17

“pick up that can”

(Kryptyk Samurai) #18

It’s been pioneered already…granted Forge in Halo Reach allows custom maps to be utilized. Here is the latest installment.

+1 to you sir

(ThePuzzldPirate) #20

I’m totally giving someone a piggyback in Brink wearing horse armor, even that would scare me ****less!
