I would normally be very willing to help out with your configuration of your server, but I simply don’t have the time at the moment. Sorry. I just have many of my own projrcts underway, an et clan to manage, and then personal life lol. However here is a great link that got me started out, and at the time I knew not a thing about setting up a server, so it’s pretty in depth:
http://www.rtcw.jolt.co.uk/content/enemy_territory/server_guide/etpro_server_setup.html
In that link you can ignore the etpro specifics and either substitute with etpub or just select another link at the bottom of the page that will describe certain parts of the server setup in more depth.
I may have skipped a few steps by asking you to go straight to etpub. So, here’s a tad more detail (the link above however shows great detail). Setup a server running etmain, then place the etpub files in the proper directories and add the fs_game entry to the startup command line (set at etpub). That will get etpub working.
I won’t be around tomorrow until the evening sometime due to a meeting, so I’ll leave you with an extra step AFTER you have etpub working properly just in case you get there before I have a chance to respond.
Anyhow, once etpub is running properly, download and install the etadmin mod. Place the files on the server, and carefully read the instructions inside to configure the etadmin mod. It’s been awhle since I used etadmin, but I believe a large amount of the documentation for it is located right inside the configuration files that come with the mod. It has some defaults set up, and many areas that MUST be changed to suit your needs. Look through the etadmin configuration files very, very closely, as some cvars/options may be commented out for temporary purposes only, and they may be difficult to notice with just a quick scroll through.
Because you are only testing a map however, there is no need to set every last cvar to perfection within etpub. Usually the defaults will be perfect, and will save alot of time for now.
