Listen to this... this will fix the xbox multiplayer community

I think we can all agree that the 360 community appears to be dead, but the truth is there are way to many playlist segregating the community if you wish to maintain your current population or possibly expand it, this is what you need to do.You need to drop advanced completely from the game because that is essentially old school with bots. Now you can either keep old school and competition, if thats the case lower the required players for competition from 10 to 8. If your unwilling to do this than combine old school and competition into one playlist. This could be accomplished by setting the max players to 12, setting the required players to 8 or 10, and allowing command post buffs. These two playlist could cover your entire communities needs. The noobs have there standard and the try hards have there competitive. Do not make competitive 8v8 do to latency issues. 6v6 allows for command post management, objective focus and good connections. I guarantee this will help the community.

Sounds good to me. I was going through the playlists last night and thinking the same thing. Less confusion when some of the modes are very similar anyway. A more streamlined selection would certainly help.

(OnceWasGreat) #3

I think that fixing the game would help the community more that using different filters for servers.

Just my opinion btw.

(dabis) #4

I personally enjoy advanced on the 360, and almost always find other players playing on that mode as well, why should they take it out? The fact that people still play the mode even today shows that it is still popular in some circles of Brink players.

(ProtoflareX) #5

This could actually work, I approve.

fps russia will fix the xbox comunity

(TruGamer97) #7

I always find people in standard

(RiveSoFlii) #8

I think they definitely have to reduce the amount of playlist. Either fix the lag with bots or reduce. The fact that there was lag in the beginning made thousands of people leave. If anything I think if it would just stay Standard for new players and advanced for better players that would be great. Old skool seems like to little of people, brink is a objective game with teammates in every class and Competetion is just like Advanced, making it pointless.

I don’t know what other modes people play on, but at least after 8PM EST during the week I am able to get full standard games all night every night. I’m all for increasing the players in the community and if this would help I’m all for it. I think a bigger problem is that in Competition you need all 10 players to start the match. I get the idea behind this, but it removes this mode from regular rotation for those w/o a team/opponents.

It might help you to hook up with people from the community game night thread in my sig.

I agree with Matters. Good game types would still exist for players of all skill levels and more people would be within the same playlists, allowing players to actually play the game instead of just sitting around waiting, and hoping, to find a game.

(NewBlueWorld) #11

Yo |Matters| I actually played many games with you man, I’m NewBlueWorld lol. You and photon are pretty friggin good with that Carb-9 hehe.

About this topic, I agree too, I find it not well structured at all. For example, I’ve been playing Brink since the very beginning and haven’t even played a single game of Stopwatch, which would be my favorite mode. The way the settings are right now you can play all game modes in either stopwatch or normal, so no one goes to stopwatch :frowning: The difference between standard and advanced is confusing, what the hell is old school…

but the worst of the worst, its been said by other people but I’ll repeat it because its dead stupid…
the fact that you need 10 players to all ready up before playing an actual game in Competition. That playlist used to be the best back when we had Big Teams rather than standard. We’d get people on ALL THE TIME, 5 vs 5 no bots, the players would be skilled and the games just awesome. Now its almost unplayable because even if 10 players are connected and 9 are ready, the game won’t even *****ing start. You need to somehow tell the other team that one of their guy is either stupid or does it on purpose, kick him then hope the next dude thatj oins will ready up. By the time this happens 2-3 other players left…even if you get a goddamn game going, you’ll never get 2 in a row! Some people will just leave after the match, making the remaining ones go through that utterly stupid process all again.

Now we’re stuck with what? Old skool is weird and mostly empty, Advanced would be good but other than friendly fire on, I haven’t noticed anything different than from Standard…the bots aren’t too good so they’re cannon fodder most of the time. Since Standard is pretty much the only viable option, its usually populated at least.

This post wasn’t meant to be a rant, I enjoy and love the game, I just wish they’d structure their modes differently. Hopefully it’ll change with the DLC, let’s be positive here you know  At least I have some friends that play Brink so I can play with them if its too hard to find a decent match

I aprove this message!

(NewBlueWorld) #13

Which one? Mine or the OP? lol

(Hunter Eagle) #14

Agreed with the statement that there are too many playlists for the community, especially at the moment. I would love to play the stopwatch mode of any playlist but I know it is not going to happen because it is hard to find a game in the normal modes. In addition Competition settings right now are not even worth fighting to find a game that will start in under half-an-hour of waiting. Also Standard and Campaign are essentially the same setup and there are people playing both resulting in unfilled bot games.

(its al bout security) #15

wow and your whole crew swarms the forums and agrees, congrats on the weighing it down folks.

(Vigor) #16

Well is he wrong? I mean this is exactly what we need… less playlists.
Matchmaking isn’t implemented in this game so the next logical solution would be to pool all the players together.

(MaTTeRS) #17

Lago you have no credibility on these forums after you said I use a aim bot and why are you hating they’re just chiming in and giving their opinion on a topic that is obviously over your head since you play bots all day.

(its al bout security) #18

ok. challenge accepted aimbot.

(o Twistedl o) #19

This kid makes me LOL

(Midnight) #20

How about this…

Ditch the xbox and get back on a PC so we have a single base of players.
