List of things that make Brink bad. Splash Damage, please read.

I was super hyped about your game. I got it recently, incredibly optimistic. That optimism was crushed. I really really want to love your game, but somethings are just… just too damn annoying or frustrating. In fact, the only reason I still have Brink is because Best Buy doesn’t allow game returns and everyone else had cheap trade in prices. (Don’t worry I’m giving it a second… I mean third chance. So, here goes.

This is on the Xbox 360 version.

-Crackling at the beginning and end of radio transmissions is annoying. It would be better if

they were softer or less… crackly.

-The voices on the radio transmission sound tinny and are rather annoying.

-Can’t understand what they are saying sometimes. CRACKLE IUIUIOTRWJLGYJ CONTROL

POST NOW JCGEYYREKHU CRACKLE

-Aim assist takes crack and goes haywire whenever I am pointed at more than one target.

The reticule does its own thing and I end up doing more damage to the nearby trashcan.

-Lighting in general is too low.

-Blurry textures, nuff said.

-Lag, nuff said.

-Framerate issues. That along with the textures make me feel like I am trying to play low

settings on a crummy laptop, not playing a brand new and supposed to be polished game on

a sexBox 360.

-People are blurry a distance away. Why?

-The major hearing loss after every time you get shot.

-The hearing loss and thud sound after you die.

-The campaign.

-Don’t get me wrong, the gun customization is cool but… I wish we had skins to put on.

That would be neat.

-A.I., Nuff said.

-More game modes and maps in the future.

-Game all-together feels half finished.

-Here is a comment from a Brink video posted in 2009. "Question. Why does this PRE-ALPHA look better

and SOUND better and have less annoying mechanics than the RELEASED version. Can I send you guys

back the one I paid sixty dollars for and get this version instead?" - HeroicSandwich

Splash Damage, if you were to fix these annoying/frustrating problems Brink would be that

much better. Plus, you would totally earn much more trust with your customers. For

example, the lazy bastards at EAsy have treated devoted and faithful players like crap for

three years straight, I will never trust them again. Neither will the thousands of people that

have left them over the years. Remember, you have a good chance to look like a bad ass

studio for handling this situation correctly rather than taking everyone in the company out to

the Bahamas with our money. (We accused EAsy of that plenty of times)

-After three hours, I nearly unlocked everything and was a level 9. Problem.

You clearly don`t get the game.

The point is, I feel I didn’t have to work at all. The game rewarded me with nearly everything it

had to offer after a short while.

So you think all the game has to offer is a some unlocks?

Why should you? The whole idea is to free you from that CoDlike grind with a predetermined gun to get a goddamn silencer for it, you are free to try different character builds as you please instead!

go play wow or runescape, obv been sniffing too many helmets… this is a competetive fps not a rpg :stroggtapir:

Yes because clearly a game becomes bad once you reach the max level

Also you didn’t have 3 tier’s worth of perks unlocked. Though I will admit I found the challenges quite easy. Getting the guns and attachments is easy but at least it keeps the playing field somewhat level.

What I meant was, what the game had to offer in unlocks was practically already given. I’m not saying make it a grind. Grinding is terrible. It would help if it was the slightest bit more difficult. I felt like I had nothing to look forward too because it was practically already given to me.

I’m not saying reaching the max level makes a game bad. Its just that if you can reach the max level after a day or two of playing, then that’s pretty weak. There is nothing to look forward too.

Get yourself a team and go win some competitions - alot better sense of achievement than some daft perks, I honestly hate games where time played gives you an item/ability advantage.

(Ino) #12

Haha, complaints about optics and sound make it a bad game for you? lol

Also: sexBox had me laughing quite a bit, more like crapBox.

(EpicStratagem) #13

Oh well, all in all this is a small problem that would not end the world if it wasn’t changed. There are a lot more that need to be tended too.

(Artheval_Pe) #14

The point of the XP system in multiplayer games is to encourage new players to start playing by showing that they are able to make progress, and because game designers discovered a few years ago that people experiment more with weapons and abilities when it’s given to them slowly because being able to use everything from the start makes most people confused.

Now, the point is. Brink is not an RPG, it’s a competitive game, so everyone should have access to the same things very quickly so that there can be an even playing field. The XP thing is hardly there to encourage you to play during the time when you’re learning the basics of how to play the game properly.

What you have to look forward too, is playing with everything at your disposal and work on your skill and your tactics to play better as part of a team.

Guild Wars follows the same mechanic - Max lvl is 20, you can reach it in one day. And that is an rpg - a genre centered around leveling up and character progression. It’s actually possible to reach max lvl is less than 2 hours.

As for nothing to look forward to - that’s why you can create multiple characters. Hell, the name of the achievement for hitting lvl 20 is named “Time to start a new character.” You also now have a maxed character you can play high lvl matches with.

Well its not. Little piece of advice, don’t put words into people’s mouths.
