List of standard textures

(Flippy) #1

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can find a list of all the textures that are supplied with W:ET by default?
(I mean the textures that you don’t need to supply in your PK3)

I know I could re-install the game and write them down one by one but… I don’t want to do that if there is a ready made list somewhere out there ^^

Thanks!

textures/common
and those in pak0,1,2,3?

I realize that, but it will take me so much time to write them all down and it would be a waste of time if there already was a list… :stuck_out_tongue:

If you open a pk3 with winrar, you can make it list all the files (without putting them in their folders) by ctrl + H.

However, what your probably after is a list of the shaders.

Do a clean install, and look in radient.

If this is to distribute your map, you should try playing your map on a clean install before you release it. Look around the map, and in console.

maybe u send ur map to a friend… he plays it and takes a screenshot if he has a texture missing, it would be easier to make the list of textures what u have missing in ur map not what r the original textures

No, I’m making a program that will tell you which textures your map uses. If I can have it compare that to a list of standard textures, it can tell you exactly which textures are not standard and need to be supplied in your pk3 file.

So I know I can find the list in pak0,1,2,3 but if there already is a ready made list somewhere on the web (which I thought there would be…) it would save me alot of time browsing through all those folders…

Oh well, gotta get to it then!

All original shaders

i unpacked the pak0.pk3 on my harddisk, i open a command-prompt, enter the directory, and type:
dir *.bmp, *.tga, *.jpg /b /s > list.txt

There is already a Tool that does this for the most part. It is called BSP Shoe. You open up a bsp file and it will tell you all the textures and shaders used in the file, what file that shader is stored in, and what .pk3 file it is in. So any shaders not in the pak0.pk3 file will not be stock textures.

I couldn’t find the posting in the forums about it or where the original download was. So I put it up temporarily here:

http://www.badongo.com/file/13658245

Save yourself some work.

Enter the text code in the box on the right to download the file. You’ll have to wait about a minute before it will let you. Blah, that service didn’t have all those ads last time I used it. Sorry about that.
