It is simple I played a game where there were 4 Phantoms trolling players that just started the game (Skyhammers, Aura and a free rotation merc with basic cards and no trinkets). Limit the stacks to max. two of the same mercs(or atleast for reacon because more than once I played with all Vassili team) and also fix the match making because puting lv. 20 to 40 with lv. 4 isn t fun it is anoying when the other team is full of lv. 20 to 40. And everyone on your team is lv.2 to lv. 10.

Yeah, the overall ecosystem get’s flipped upside down, thanks to merc stacking…
Merc stacking limit is not viable with squad system. And squad system is good to emphases the tactics needed in team play aka choose your team well or loose.
Merc stacking is really a problem when people don’t care of the team, and it will increase afk and quitters as some people just want to play a merc and will sit down in spawn if they can’t until they can select the merc they want.

I would like them to test a system like ive seen in other games where can switch to any merc at any time but if there is more than one or 2 of that merc on a team its locked out till some one else switchs.
Im not saying it will/wont work but its still an idea to research.

For this to happen, we have to get rid of the squad system. Also, need to add an “anti-troll” system : if no one want to pick another merc, players involved see their mercs chosen randomly after some delay (after 20 seconds ?)

Theoretically, it can indeed work if the merc restriction is applied during the match, and not only when the match is setting up. This means that you can have a squad of 3 mercs but end up stuck to one because the other 2 are already played (unless someone switch merc of course).
Pubstomps happen. Trolls happen. It’s f2p and internets. Take the beat down, use a built in counter, or switch to a different server.
Problem solved.
Sadly, limiting the mercenary stack will not affect the trolls/nabs’ birth rate.

We have been asking to limit merc stacking for over a year. So far no result and i don’t expect anything to change with 1.0 release. Hope they get their priorities right and focus on stuff that matter and not keep adding mercs while the game struggle with the current merc amount and balance. I prefer a lower merc amount with a well build match making and balance system.
