Limbo Menu Camera...

(HandofHorus) #1

Once my map loads, If I press ‘L’ to bring the limbo menu, the section of the menu screen that normally displays the Objective Cameras displays nothing. It looks like its supposed to be displaying objective cam 0. When i move the mouse over it, it leaves a bunch of mouse trails. Kinda like the “hall of mirrors” effect.

If I click on the Up or Down arrow (to cylce through all the objectives), all my limbo cam problems go away. If I close the limbe menu, and reopen it, the strange behavior (HOM effect where the camera should be) comes back.

Any tips to correct this?

Thanks in advance,

the cam has to point to an info_notnull iirc

Make sure the cam is properly positioned and all 3 axis.

All cameras work fine if I cycle through them… Its the camera (or lack there of) that should be displayed when the limbo menu is first opened.

(btw, all camera’s are targeted at info_notnull’s)

Thanks replying, but that wasn’t the problem :\

I have been having the same problems, and when looking at goldrush.map they have a camera with objective 0 at the same place as as info_player_intermission for the end_game view. So perhaps that does the trick…

It clearly states in the camera entity that it can be anything from objective 1 to 8 but says nada about 0…so perhaps they just forgot to mention that 0 is the start point in the limbo menu.

The camera No. 0 is for the global objective.

From my latest tests, the default camera, when you bring the limbo menu, is the current team’s spawn area. So just point a camera to the blob over the *_checkpoint of every spawn. No need to filled an objective key/value. A simple target/targetname will suffice. I get no HOM effect this way.
