Shadowrun shows you dont need alot of guns or powers to be a good game you just need them all set up right. Its still played to day on the 360. was it ahead of its time idk but its fun. Also Microsoft wants people to pay $30 bucks for it on games on demand even though you can go to say gamestop and get it for $5. Cant wait for number two though.
Like Shadowrun?
I tend not to register on fora for games, but this thread got me to sign up.
In 2009 I interviewed Shadowrun’s producer, Mitch Gitelman. At the time he was head of first-party game development on Xbox Live. I was a fan of Shadowrun and wondered what went into its creation - and what led to its demise.
We spoke for a couple of hours, covering how he got started in the industry, the game, turbulence at FASA (things got pretty rough) and what his plans were with Microsoft. It was a revealing interview and I think he got to reflect on things that he hadn’t thought about for a while. It’s a grown-up discussion in a number of ways, not least of which is the swearing (most of with was provided by Mitch, much to my amusement).
I’ve not played Brink, but I’m hopeful for its potential. Certainly if it evokes the same feelings that Shadowrun did, it will be doing well. Let’s hope it sells far better.
Link to the interviews. The second show is at the top, so start on the bottom.

I’ll never forgive them for butchering what shadowrun really was and that was one of the best SNES RPG of all time (underrated and ahead of it’s time) now whenever i mention it that abomination is what is thought of.
sorry just really disappointed that they never made it into a rpg that could of been on the level of deus ex or mass effect.

I’ve been saying for years, that they should redo it, and release it on XBLA.
Thanks for posting the interviews. Have you seen the videos from the supposed single player for Shadowrun?
never heard about that game but i like the concept
It’s like a mixture of CS, Brink and Halo.
You buy guns/abilties. You can choose a race to play as which has benefits. You equip 3 abilties. Kills get you guns, gameplay revolves around kills though, not so much objectives.
BTW, BRINK fusion of single and multi is not a new concept, The Crossing a game by arkane studios already do that, but their game is on hold.

I think heard about that game way back when, I think it’s a bit different though. In “the crossing” one player plays as the “hero” (the story protagonist) while everyone else plays as the ai, the ai which has less life, does less damage and whatever else ai would do.

You’re welcome. I have seen those vids, but I think it was after the show. Maybe what FASA should have done is, like Brink, tried to create a plot story that used MP levels as settings. (Acknowledging that brink isn’t typically MP.)
