Can someone give me a quick tutorial on how to add nice lights to your map? I’d like to add these indiana jones style lights to my map.
I’ve looked at the tutorial list but there wasn’t any tutorial based on lights.
Lights
nothing special, just well place them well and give colour, intensity and fade in a good way
well, in my opinion to create very beautifully lit environemnt u dont need any more technical info than just how to place one. all the other stuff needed to make a nice lighting is only depends on how do u use them, ie ur imagination and skill (not technical/mapping but commonsense or idkhowtosaythat)
however a general note: use 0 or very-close-to-0 ambient values and try to do everything with light entities, and later when u final compile ur map use -bounce 8, ofc it will take long but who cares! because its a do-once (or few) work. u can leave the comp for night to do that. why do once? coz for the developing process u can simply omit light compile.

Are those 3 lines the exact tutorial or is there more? Because I can’t see any link leading to tutorials or something.
Btw sorry for doublepost but I don’t see what’s the problem with my light entity. I used these settings
Clasname Light
Origin -168 -360 80
light 200
_color 1.9 0.1 0.1
Fade 0.4
Yet, when I test my map. I don’t see any light at all. It’s still the dull “lightless” map.
1.9?.. idk, i might be wrong, but i would use values ranging from 0.0 to 1.0 …
this is first. second, use 1000-2000 instead of 200 as radius first; then later u will get familiar with it. a handy option: in rad preferences tick “show light radii”
