I’ve tried creating a func_group entity with a _lightmapscale of 0.125, to cast detailed shadows, but I’ve never gotten it to work. When I compile with _lightmapscale in worldspawn it works fine, but for some reason not with single entities. What am I doing wrong? I’m using the latest stable version of q3map2.

Just in case it’s not a grammatical error, the brush which you want to receive the shadows should be the func_group. The answer would be convenient, since the worldspawn key would set it on that receiving brush.

So it’s the entity that’s receiving the shadow that should have the _lightmapscale key, and not the entity which casts the shadow? I see, I guess I’ve misunderstood it all along. I’ll try that out, thanks!
