Well, those are bad screen shots, but I have my Gamma at 2.0 so it looks semi-ok to me, but no matter how many lights I put in there, or even if I have no lights in there, nothing changes.
for the light you could increase the ‘strengh’ of the light entities select them and press N and change the ‘light’ key and value, or you could enter an ambient value in your worldspawn, just select a normal brush and press N ,enter key ambient and value of something around 10-15 to give overall light to the map this shoudl help if used along with better lighting with light entities.
ok, thank you for replying, but I selected the roof and did that, but still, no better. Also I got the barbed wire to work, but its weak, i need it to kill faster?
Edit: How do you create water, and How to import my own textures? (sorry im a noob to this )
Select a worldspawn brush and press ‘N’, type in the following keys:
_minlight 20
_mingridlight 48
Close the window and keep the brush selected, press K to bring up the color selector.
Select a color and press OK. The color is for the ambient light so I suggest that you use something similar to yellow/white depending on what light you want.
I did exactly what you said, but it still looks the same?
Edit: BTW, If I compile it without the -light it looks fine, but are there any fallbacks to this?
Hmm, then something is REALLY wrong.
The only drawback with compiling with light is that it takes longer time, but on a map with just a couple of rooms there is not that much difference.
in the future, launch your map, drop the console, then look for the yellow and red warning messages. They’ll often tell you what’s going on. Make sure you’ve enabled logging so that you can read thru your etconsole.log file later.
