Lighting bug.

In my map, i placed red lights (1 0 0)
my ambient is 20 (1 1 1)
sometimes the player apear in red, sometimes in black, sometimes in the normal lightning (like under a (1 1 1) light)
what is the problem.
for ma lamps i use some boxed red models (cagelightr.md3)
i added coronas just under my lamps.
i added lights(red) just under my coronas.
help !

your map is outdoor or indoor?

not too sure but you probably need to use light juniors to illuminate your players etc.

Have you made a brush textured with common/lightgrid and made areas not covered in it?
If so, those places have no lightgrid info and leave the game guessing the player’s lighting info.

lightjunior isn’t working. same bug.
i have no common/lightgrid texture

ambient of 20 is quite bright… i would try lowering that number… almost in half and see what you get. I use an ambient of 8 in my maps… then add lights where more lighting is needed.

use your regular lights that are red for lighting as you were… then add a light junior to the same area to light the player model there.

i tried to delete my brokens corona/redlight/lightjunior associations and replace it by a cloned working red lamp but the bug stay …

help !

It is difficult for us to come up with a solution with so little information.
Perhaps editor/game screenshots would might give us an idea that could help you.

Also, game screenshots with “r_lightmap 1” might help.

i can se that my models aren’t lighted. i think thats why the players aren’t too. but how to fix it ?

found a solution :
my lights were too strong.
i just lower all light keys.
