If I build a constructable with light emiting textures when it is built will the light in that area grow brighter?
If it is distroyed will it grow dark?
i am thinking blow the breaker box and the building goes dark (hee hee)

Light thoughts indeed.
There is no true dynamic lighting in ET, or any Q3 engine game. That’s what Doom3 is for.
If you give a constructible a surfacelight, it will either cast light into the world, or not at all, but it won’t be adjustable at runtime.
I’m not sure if it will even be able to cast light, since constructibles don’t cast shadows. :???:
oh well It was just a thought…
my map is nearing compleation anyway dont want to over tweek it
You could however trigger dlight entities from your construction script. They are ugly and eat FPS, but you can do it. You can also ‘fake’ dynamic lighting with clever use of script_mover or func_static decals.
Hmmm remapshader might also be an option too.
really?
there goes my idea hehe
wanted to have a generator in my map that upon distruction cut some lights
dynamic light. You should be able to find a tutorial for using them in quake3 (or RTCW) somewhere. They make light/darkness, but they do not cast shadows, and tend tho show through walls. They also hurt FPS.
