Light Junior questions

:disgust: I have this hallway that is a model with architectural braces every 512 units, with a string of light juniors down the corridor. I want to lightup the player and gun model more.

the only time it seems to lightup the player/gun is when i am under the architectural braces…

any suggestions?

Lightjuniors should only be used as a last resort. If the lightgrid is too dark in that part of the map, check the following:

  • Is there empty void below the floor? The lightgrid might be sampling from there.
  • Is the gridsize key too large? If it’s too large, then the lightgrid sampling will be too crude and no amount of lights in the vicinity will help.

But it would be cool to have a key we can add on a light entities that affect only the lightgrid and not the lightmap…

there is a caulk hull around the hallways because they are models…

any ideas?

I am really in need of such a key, I have alot of colored lights in my level so it can be hard to tell the red team from the blue team. What I would give for a key that would allow me to make player models full bright. Is there any way you could add such a key into a future version of q3map2 ydnar?

This is exactly what lightjuniors do, they only affect the grid.
