light doesn't work

(Yorrick) #1

My light doesn’t seem to work.

These are the entity settings i used.
Clasname Light
Origin -974 1882 488
light 200
_color 2 2 2
Fade 0.7

Yes I did compile with -light.

(IndyJones) #2

post a pic of how does it look in radiant.

(Wezelkrozum) #3

maybe the light is stucked into a brush?

(IndyJones) #4

that’s what i wanted to see

(Yorrick) #5

It ain’t, it’s flowing below a lamp.

This is how it looks

(Igloo) #6

No no no, 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000 is white _color.

For example red is: 1.000000 0.000000 0.000000

Select a light, press K and set what colour you need by the picker

(Yorrick) #7

I dont want red light…

(murka) #8

_color 2 2 2 just doesn’t exist. they go from 0.0 to 1.0

(Igloo) #9

Maybe a screenshot how to press K on the keyboard? :>

(Wezelkrozum) #10

the color is no problem just not thick the box nonlinear

(Yorrick) #11

Nope that doesn work either.

Btw, it doesn’t matter if the number is above 1 afaik.

(Wezelkrozum) #12

did you compile WITH light?

(Yorrick) #13

Yes I did.

(Igloo) #14

Try to compile with the red light by the GtkRadiant. Maybe light stage is stopped by a leak? The first test should be for example with goldrush to see if compiler works (has to be renamed to something different than goldrush.bsp).

As I meantioned before, see other maps and stop talking 2 2 2 is the right _color as it isn’t.

Greetings,
Igloo

A compile log couldn’t hurt…

Just delete the light, make an ordinary light with the default values and see if that works for starters.

(Yorrick) #18

This is weird. I copy/pasted a light entity from an other testmap I made which did work there. But in this map it didn’t work. So it doesn’t have anything to do with the entity settings. Any other things that could be wrong? I did compile with -light.
