Light color selection problem

(MindConfusion) #1

I’ve droped in my ambient to my map in worldspawn and gave it a 5
then I added _color and then hit K to bring up the light color selection but it won’t show up.

My map is based during the night so I need it to be alittle dark, but can’t do that as said above. Even if I take the ambient out it still stays the same “light”, if someone could be so kind to give me the value for _color (night time) or tell me how to make the K button work please say so in serious need for it.

Try this link for some “real world light” values. Enter the _color values manually: ModsOnline.com

If you absolutely have to add ambient lighting to your map to nuke the black areas, I would recommend using _minlight instead. _minlight will raise the minimum amount of light from 0 to whatever value you designate. _minlight is a better solution for it only raises the dark areas in your map instead of raising all the lighting values.

Just add it in as a key in your worldspawn as ‘_minlight n’.

oh and to answer the topic… I used .4 .4 .6 IIRC for this screenshot:

(w/ a _minlight of 10)
