Light body type OHK

(Weapuh) #41

There’s gravity… erm…I don’t think Fun and Realism Correlate well at all. I kind of enjoy spawning, as Ed said, like to see whats killing me and able to avoid it, which is the opposite of what warfare tends to lean towards. “How can we be more abley killed in action? hmm”

(Nail) #42

WTF, where did I say anything about PC or console in this thread ?

I’m starting to tire of the little asshats trolling me on these forums

(Ajax's Spear) #43

Look out everyone. Internet tough guy coming through. And he’s got a gun, apparently.

(Weapuh) #44

Yeah, Duckhunt WAS a pretty sweet game.

(Ajax's Spear) #45

Just make sure you sheer Nail first, ok Suka? That wool is valuable but not any good with blood all over it.

(Nail) #46

lol, I got lots of guns, but that doesn’t make me a tough guy

it’s my +24 Hair Shirt of invincibility

(Weapuh) #47

OMG I actually recognize that sheep now, its Shaun le Mouton!..(only get it in french here sorry Shaun the sheep fans) nobody called u tough guy, everyone knows how lovable you are

(Ajax's Spear) #48

I’m trying to figure out what happened here…

Sucka said that it’s more realistic if headshots always kill, Nail gave a real world example of one that didn’t, so Sucka basically threatened his life over it? That more or less an accurate assessment?

(Nail) #49

Shaun the Sheep is some of the best TV I’ve ever seen, 8 minutes to tell a story with no dialogue, freakin brilliant

I also have every episode, handy on planes to calm little people, no dialogue means anybody can understand it no matter what language they speak

(Weapuh) #50

Finally someone who gets me on Shaun the sheep. But rather than express my jealousy of your Shaun the sheep collection, we’ll leave it as is lol.

(Humate) #51

oh dear, back on topic…

With a high damage rifle, ohk on a light is fine.
It encourages lights to always be on the move and its a nice counter to the camping light up top whose job is to harrass, or weaken the heavies below.

(Luftwaffle) #52

Did anyone else take away from that interview that he was only talking about light rifles being able to OHKO lights? Since directly after talking about light rifles, he started talking about headshot insta-kills on lights. Which makes sense, since, for example, a pistol or an smg killing you in one headshot seems to go against what we’ve previously seen, even for light bodies.

(Nail) #53

episodes are easy enough to get, and while you’re at it, get Wallace and Grommit as well, Shaun made his debut on that show

(Weapuh) #54

That’s also what i got since he said rifle can do A LOT of damage and so i assume they they are the ones that OHI (incapacitate).

My gf thought it was the serta mattress sheep, i must dump her immediately.

(Maca) #55

That seems to be the case, I partially made this topic to have other people say how they interpret Stern’s words, and it seems that people think I dug too deep into them.

(tokamak) #56

Even if he was clear, there’s way too many other factors playing a role to attach any value to one particular piece of info.

(crazyfoolish) #57

“Gromit! we forgot the crackers!”

comic genius

(Cankor) #58
Oh, so he indeed had said that? Then Stern’s use of the term “maximum health” can most probably be interpreted as health with no buffs.

If no one else has contradicting information (or interpretations), this topic is very much finished, as it has found the answer it was looking for.
What he meant by maximum health was no previous damage.

My take from the totality of all the comments by those who know:

You can OHK an undamaged light by a headshot if he has no upgrades/buffs.
If he has been buffed, or has an upgrade that gives him armor or ups his health, then probably not.

The whole thing about being able to be revived is irrelevant. You can be revived after you have been OHK’d. Being killed and being incapacitated are synonymous, it’s the same thing. OHK= can just as easily mean one hit incapacitation.

edit: clarifying the last, devs have been clear, there is no “insta-gib” in Brink, nothing takes you from being alive one moment to not being able to be revived the next.

killed = incapacitated.
gibbed = no longer able to be revived

The very first FPS I ever played featured giant floating smiley faces that floated around a 3D maze that shot projectiles at other giant floating smiley faces. It was hella fun.

Kids these days have no perspective.

Indeed, Rex used to give me nightmares… mind you, it was more of a FP than a FPS
