Please consider raising it.
Level 5 is too low for Matchmaking.
You can get level 5 in a few hours …
People don’t know all the maps/objectives/mercs yet and they jump into MM.
Agreed. Should be 7 or 8. Enough time to buy good loudouts and have a great understanding of the game.
Didn’t it used to be 7 or 8? No clue why they changed it outside of wanting more players to use it, but then it just becomes a glorified pub which still lacks any teamwork.
Why should people be allowed to play in comp though when they obviously haven’t had the time to play the maps and/or try out a lot of the different mercs, so they know how to play them and how to counter them? IMO and this is no troll -
In my opinion you should have unlocked a fixed amount of mercs (Lets say 3) before you can enter competitive AND be level 10 to have at least a common knowledge of the map layout and the mercs. And at the same time, the free rotation should not be allowed in competitive play, unless they are unlocked.
-If you’re matched up with another player lvl 5 and they suck, that’s just unfortunate. The odds of a bad player being matched up with you or on the other team are the same, either you get lucky and get one on the other team, or unlucky and get one on your team.
-However I believe it would be a good idea to make it so you have to have X amount of hours in the game, because, yes, you can get lvl 5 within a couple of hours, but if you had to be lvl 5 and have 10 hours in the game, that would make the players have to be more experienced if they just rushed the lvls.
I honestly can’t fathom why the devs thought it would be a good idea to set it to 5. People griped in the closed beta that wanted to immediately go into Ranked without putting in any time.
The devs caved to those people. Their logic was that at least by level 7 you have probably seen all the maps and might even know a bit about a class or two. But they changed it to 5 anyway. Level 5 is just ridiculously low. I hit level 4 by the end of my first and very long Stopwatch match. I hit level 5 the next game IIRC. Which means anybody who did what I did could go to ranked and have never seen a lot of the maps and most likely have no clue about their class or objectives.
agree, lvl 5 is just too low, people who only played on max lvl 5 servers can jump directly into competitive
please raise it as soon as possible.
I think bumping it back up to 7 is a nice idea. I was one of the ones who thought 7 was too high back in closed beta, but that was when credits came much much slower.
When you play matchmaking and those Skyhammers don’t know where to go yet or what to do it can be really annoying and all of them are usually lvl 5,6,7. It is also no fun when you play against a lvl 5 team, it is boring and for them for sure frustrating. I also share the opinion that the minimum level for matchmaking should be raised.
It’s just way too fast to reach level 5. Lowering it was just some fan-servicing action for vets who did not want to grind when xp and credits were harder to obtain. Level 7-8 always represented to me quite a good pace on map and game knowledge.
Newcomers won’t feel the difference anyway. Most of the people who asked for a mm minimum level decrease were long time players and they’re all 15+ now…

Agreed. It’s like how League of Legend does it. This creates a good and a reason to rank up, it also promote people to buy the mercs that they can use, and it will create a better/more competitive Matchmaking/Game. They could have lowered to have more people test it, but it needs to change for the shakes of having a competitive scene.
