Out of curiosity since it seems that she’ll be the next merc to join the war, according to one of Faraleth’s round up(but they’re quite trolly from what I heard so…)
Just would like to know what to expect when she’s in.
Let's talk about Aimee
My round-up’s never troll D: Not unless I make a joke… which I normally put in italics or something, so people can see it’s less serious >.<
However, I don’t believe I ever wrote that Aimee was hinted towards at all - there isn’t any published info on the next merc yet. You might be thinking of this?
My personal guess for merc release is Thunder, then Aimee, then Turtle… and then the other “secret” mercs being worked on.
Who told you roundups are trolly? They’re one of our most valued sources of info on DB Forums.

I didn’t mean you mate, I meant Splash Damage(They). XD
And it was this thread that caused me to believe so

4th bullet
I don’t think the dev would line up the mercs up like that unless he’s doing it in alphabetic order so I took it as a hint
Sincere apology for not being clear on the explanation, ask away if there’s anymore.
I’d say that it’s very likely that Aimee would be a sniper. Since the spotter classes are lackluster right now it’s highly likely that we would get another generic sniper class, with a powerful ability.
I’d also guess that Aimee would be using flashbangs as well as her third eye, coming from the data of the game files. If so, it may be used in order to make Aimee more powerful on offense, while validating a long-overdue defense nerf.
I’d say that the third eye should “glitch” or something when it spots something, deactivating it for a period of time, while emitting a massive amount of light, so that the other team can take it out, making the third eye only good for one target before dying.
Or, alternatively, have the third eye not detect anything if the target stays inside its visual radius for a few seconds before leaving its view. This would mean that people who walk past the thing at a distance don’t trigger it, and people can slowly approach it to neutralize the bloody thing before it detects others. That way, only aggressive, stupid people would be affected by the spotting ability.
That’s my guess as well.

I like how you say Recon classes are lackluster than suggest that Aimee’s power be as lackluster as possible. I’m guessing you never played with CBT Aimee before. Her power was similar to Vassili’s but was incapable to marking through walls, rather it can be placed on any surface. Think of it as a combination of the Heartbeat Sensor and the IR Goggles. In one version of her build she could detonate the camera making it a bit like Fletcher’s Sticky Bomb (I think it also had the power of Proxy’s mine so you can see how that might be broken). I’m not sure if it was permanent, however, as I didn’t really use her in CBT.
Flashbang, on the other hand isn’t her power at all. That one belongs to Dazzler. It’s basically the combination of the Concussion Grenade (which blinds mercs looking at it when it goes off) and the Frag Grenade from what I’ve heard. There is a reason they split the merc into two different mercs.
What I meant by “spotter classes are lackluster” was that the amount of spotting classes are lower than any other type of merc due to the Phantom being classified as a recon even though the class obviously doesn’t have a spotting ability. The Phantom is undeniably an Assault class, and its classification is unreliable as to how the class is able to play.
I don’t want Aimee’s power to be as lackluster as possible, but I heard from other players that her ability is a permanent version of the heartbeat sensor, which makes her quite powerful, especially if you are ahead or playing defense. I merely stated nerfing ideas because that players found her to be too powerful in closed beta. She didn’t need that self-destruct action for her motion sensor.

It can’t see through walls though. It requires LoS and like Vassili’s power it has a set range it can see. The version you can access through console command is also pretty large (a little bigger than the sticky bomb) so if you look for it, it’s easy-ish to spot.
I hope she gets the Granduer as an option. Did she have bolt guns in the CBT?
