Lets see some more interesting weapons.

Dirty Bomb, at the moment, has alot of interesting abilities, such as healing stations, revive darts, orbital killsats, etc, but the current guns are all rather standard fare. It’s actually a little jarring to be shooting an M4A1 while being blasted with a giant space laser and running from a semi-invisible swordwielder.

So lets see some more unique weapons to go with the standard fare. Laser rifles probably wouldn’t fit the game, but we could at least have some more unique stuff to match the killsats and drones. Stuff like double barrel revolvers, silenced shotguns, marksman rifles that tag targets for bullets. Futuristic or fancy stuff that isn’t too out there, but still gives the game a unique personality.

Need we more weapons, when we can have a Chinese Punk Arty Skin?

In all seriousness, more guns would be kind of cool, but some are coming soon anyway, M14 on Redeye is one example.

For me personally, the fact that DB has “no-nonsense” conventional firearms is one of its main attractions.

Too many games have fallen victim to over complicating their arsenal to the point where the guns don’t feel like guns anymore (especially true for the ME3 multiplayer, it got really bad in the end). I am not saying SD would do the same mistake, but I am quite happy with the arsenal as it is.

They sure could add in a few more conventional firearms ofcourse, and silenced weapons is an interesting idea :slight_smile:

Well, nothing I just said can’t be built with the tech we have right now in this day and age. Suppressed shotguns already exist. Double barreled revolvers are perfectly buildable but incredibly likely to shatter your hand with recoil. Smart rounds can be made but would be very cost-inefficient, and making that a fun and balanced weapon would be really easy, hit target with bullet, then when you ADS you have no spread while aiming directly at the target you already hit. Simple, easy to balance. Has a role (hitting fast things/extreme ranges)

Fantasy weapons would not fit the game. Crazy out there gimmick weapons would not fit the game, but some more unconventional realistic stuff would fit and be more fun than an M4.

I agree with some of the other posters. For what its worth, I enjoy that the guns are modeled after real weapons, and that they each have their own feel, strengths, weaknesses, and playstyle. The recent nerfs to the ‘best in class’ smgs like kek/crotzni prove they are trying to give each weapon its own niche.

So, while I would not mind seeing more variety, I think they should stay far away from anything silly/gimmicky, and only proceed if the new weapons fullfill a specific role/niche that the current weapons do not.

-Gatling submachine gun that has a ridiculously high rate of fire, but recoil and damage falloff kill it for anything longer than 10m. Phantoms would get a lot of use out of a weapon like this, as it would burn through its mag before the enemy can react.

-Throwing a hive of bees. The hive breaks open, the bees scatter and split off to attack nearby enemies. Their venom (thanks to the radiological attack, and the resulting freakazoid mutations) can freeze enemy Ability cooldown timers and slow down enemy Engineers trying to accomplish an objective.

-Force field gun. Literally shoot force fields at them to push them back and block their fire.
