Let's Fix Dome!

Dome is pretty cool - but as you’ve probably noticed, it would also work as a 16v16 map too…
So the running, especially for the attackers, can get very tiresome.

One idea that came up numerous times during the Dome test weekends (and didn’t seem to get much traction from the devs?) was the idea of including Forward Spawns in Dome.

Personally - I like the complexity and number of routes, so adding more forward spawns and segmenting the map would reduce the need to drastically alter it.

Any thoughts on Forward Spawns? (they were an integral part of Wolf:ET)

Any ideas on changes to Dome?

Where would you put the forward spawn? Would the objective package also move or would someone have to go after it?

I think forward spawns would really help this map…its true that this map could be easily 16v16. The first objective is really hard for the attackers.

I feel as though the entire center of the map could be drastically reduced in size. I get what they were going for…they wanted a map that didn’t have a confined flow to it like all current DB maps and they instead wanted attackers be able to choose an area for a plant then stage a defense for it. It gives the attackers some options and can open up new strats for spreading out defenses and allow for faints and such. But it just doesn’t work IMO. It was a valiant effort but it’s just too odd compared to what is already established. If one of the sections for the second objective was closed off and more added to the other then I think the map works better.

Also, side note, when my friend first played Dome a few days ago the first thing he said was, “you can fit Skyrim in here.”.

Dome lags a lot for me. Because of its huge size, my computer has trouble… It is a good map, just not for me…

I agree with you man, I LOVE the map, it is very huge and I really only feel the first objective is the hardest for that reason. I think the forward spawn would be a good thing to try out and I don’t see it being that hard to implement.
