Exactly the opposite. You get the xp you’ve earned if you leave the game but miss out on bonuses etc that are awarded at the end of the game. I guess if you get a BIG bonus at the end of a game it makes my point moot.
Let's Discuss: Points & XP
Sort of; if you dashboard while actively in a map, you will lose the XP. If you leave the map via the options menu, then dashboard, you get the XP. That’s when the ‘save state’ is.
Good question. I guess that would depend on whether the XP is given upon leaving the game (i.e. it’s totaled up but you don’t actually receive it until you complete a match or quit via the menu), or if it is added the instant it’s earned–in which case you would get the xp whether you dashboard, alt-F4, or yank the ethernet from the back of your box.
I ask because last I checked dashboarding is (one of) the (many) thing(s) that killed Black Ops—when the host quit through the dashboard instead of the menu, it became impossible to migrate hosts.
Ok, I could see where the console kids are coming from if the host quits is basically the kid taking his ball and going home. Game comes to a screeching halt and either pukes or tries to find a new host. Thems the breaks of a console system however.
However I see nothing wrong with the system, if you’re “ragequitting” its because you’re not having fun, you’re probably on the team being slaughtered. Last time I checked, unless you’re in a serious competitive level game you’re playing to HAVE FUN. I’ve never grasped the stigma behind “ragequitting” for this reason. You’re not happy you’re looking to go elsewhere until you are happy.
