Let's Discuss : Kira + Rhino Update

(cursedCroissant) #1

Just logged in to see some nice stuff on Dirty Bomb’s home page. Some nice layout changes, two new mercs, even a preview for loadouts, which is /really/ nice. When I saw the Elite Cases, too, I was wondering about what the people who won’t spend cash on Dirty Bomb lose out on. What do Elite Cases + anything else exclusively only being able to be purchased by IRL money do, and how would they affect against a fully F2P Player?

Elite cases only contain silver cards and higher, so you will by default get a loadout card with a cosmetic skin when opening one of these. Credit boosters are self explanatory but I honestly think they’re not worth it at all with the current prices. The regular f2p player won’t be affected by this at all, apart from maybe a few gold/cobalt cards that don’t exist in bronze (hope they’ll get around to fix that) and the jelousy when getting killed by some shiny pimp loadout card.

There are already some discussion threads about this, including one about the update in the announcements forum.

The only things added are cosmetic, and you can now directly buy certain loadouts directly. Nothing you can’t get as a free player, it can just take longer if you have bad luck.

A F2Per can still earn anything that the Elite Cases drop, but the odds are very slim and RNG based. In the Elite cases we believe the odds are 75% chance of Silver, 20% Gold and 5% Cobalt. You also can’t trade up to Cobalt which means that the only reliable way to get them is these cases. (There is a tiny slim chance of them being in a normal case reward)

The only other thing is the Credit Boosters, which aren’t that amazing if you compare their price to the cost of a merc. Better off buying the merc you want rather than a boost IMHO.

Those are the only IRL money exclusives atm(I think). The bronze cards can be bought with credits by anybody(Which is amazing btw. Would suggest picking up bronzes for credits, guaranteed to get what you want.

The Elite Cases are still RNG, which means you probably won’t get a card for a merc you want and it probably won’t be cobalt either. If you are unlucky you will get a useless Cobalt(like myself ~ Cobalt Bushwhacker with Blishlok >.>)

They are no unique Cobalts(at least none that were mentioned to us or found yet) so everything at cobalt can be found at gold.

And with the update the Credit increase from missions/dailies is huge and removes any real need to buy mercs outright. This will allow people who DO have money to spend to pickup Elite Cases instead(if they wish).

I got three 3 star missions in one refresh yesterday and got 3,000 credits in less than 2 hours(not including base fees/bonuses). Then you get MORE missions 3 hours later! Credit gain is intense.

So really the only thing a F2Per is missing out on is easy Silver+ loadouts. There are a couple unique ones at those tiers, but generally speaking the Bronze available for credits are definitely still awesome choices. It comes down to personal preference, as some of the unique higher tiered loadouts are junk IMHO.

Thanks for all the responses, guys!

There’s already a huge shitstorm about elite cases and the unique high tier cards and p2w going on. It’ ridiculous.

Outch, I feel your pain, friend…

Yeah, and the only thing that will change is they will make them available at bronze. What a crazy win for us  lol

Although it is the only thing that they can do and the only thing we are demanding

Gold only is a little over the top, but silver+ is kinda nice imo. Give the card a feeling of rarity without being unobtainable.

The thing I hate the most about gold only cards is that if I like the card I have to wear an ugly yellow camo and a massive piece of gold shaped like a gun,… I wish my gold cards were silver…

I wish I could apply the Iron camo to all my cards…

They make you look bling-bling without forcing you to play the game. They have no effect, besides cosmetics. And free players can grind the cosmetics as well.
