Although a while ago now, I do feel that the ammo cache relocation was a good thing, in order to force players out of their way to get ammo and to prevent having a good camping spot. However, with the ammo cache nerf (no more ammo overflow) I feel that instead of giving half a clip, it should just give a full clip. And here’s my reasons:
-
It severely gimps people with odd bullets. Since ammo caches round down, a person who has odd number of ammo in their magazines vs someone who has even numbers will be forced to sit longer on an ammo cache, unfairly putting them out of action for a longer duration, which I feel does not work well with dirty bomb’s fast paced nature.
-
It does not render ammo classes useless. Ammo classes have the ability to move around the map which basically makes them still very relevant as the enemy may be sieging you or you’re sieging them and do not have the luxury to run off and grab ammo. Another reason is that if you don’t have an ammo class, then your team is forced to sit around the ammo cache which makes your team vulnerable to AOE.
-
Just because you get ammo faster doesn’t make you less vulnerable. Sure, you may argue that you sit there for less time meaning you can run off earlier and not be exposed. But the fact that you still need to go to a place that players will know means that your movement patterns are already somewhat predictable.
I’d also say something about health regeneration being a bit faster over time, but maybe for another day (and topic).
