Depends if a heavy is heavy from bullet resistant armor or from sluggin’ dem cheezeburgerz. Brink’s heavy’s appear to ooze BO.
Let's be honest, a heavy with a Kevlar vest and a gatling should be the most feared..
Gatling / Heavy need a big nerf in my opinion. It’s almost as effective as a sniper at long range, and at close - medium range it’s unbeatable. It also requires practically no skill whatsoever.
It makes the game a lot less fun and dynamic, as does camping with the sniper rifle (which I think was a dubious inclusion in the game from the start).

I like how you state the heavy needs a nerf but it hasn’t been changed, just the guns have… shows how much you know about what’s going on.
The gatling at long range is as effective as a sniper? Good lord, if you are going to complain… at least don’t make it so blatantly obvious you’re making this stuff up. It has the worst accuracy at long range by a wide margin over every other gun in the game minus the shotguns. At close range it takes less time to kill a heavy with an unbuffed smg than it does to spool up the gatling.
A light shouldn’t be able to go toe to toe with a heavy and come out on top, at least not more than 10% of the time. But as a light you can get around them, flank, slide tackle, knife, whatever… the problem is before the patch and dlc, light needed no skill. Now they aren’t the best class to have in every situation and can’t just blitz through anyone no matter what weapon, class or weight they are.

Before the gun tweaks, as a heavy, I wasn’t even an afterthought to lights. They just rolled up on me blasted me into oblivion with their Carb-9.
After the tweaks, lights and mediums now need to factor me in. I can clog a hallway with bullets, or soften up a group of enemies for my teammates to finish off.
Which is exactly what a heavy, rocking an HMG should be able to do.
I’ve read a couple people claim to snipe with the gotlung… but I’m highly dubious.
BTW… it takes a significant (in the heat of battle) amount of time to get the gotlung spooled to fire… and I’ve died many times when a light or medium got the jump on me and I didn’t have the time to spool and fire back. Which is exactly how it should be.

Here’s a protip amish.
Always have your secondary out and only bring out the gatling gun when you can spool it up (ADSing) and get ready to blast away at the enemy.
Otherwise, secondary, secondary, secondary! So you don’t get caught with your pants down.
My favorite secondary for Heavies is the Euston. It has the fastest swap rate out of the 5 assault rifles.
I was sniped today by a gotlung, couldnt believe it myself.
Refuel, 1st obs. He shot me from the rush route of the resistance. I was comming from the transition to the 2nd obs. Thats a distance where I usually ignore every enemy looking at me, but that guy got me with 3-4shots, maybe 2-3secs? Felt like the hyperblaster sniping from etqw

I’ve sniped people with the gatling gun too from a distance on security tower on the top… but it is not 3 to 4 shots… more like 40 to 80 shots… That thing is inaccurate as **** even when burst firing it. The guy was either incredibly lucky or you were being shot by 2 people at once.
I received those 4 bullets. Dont remember if he was on full auto or burstfiring. With the hyperblaster you had to shoot one bullet at a time to keep the spread close to none. Will try myself now.
EDIT: Ok if it was fired from one enemy, it must have been full auto
One possible fix i would like to see on a heavy is instead of more HP have a small level of resistance to bullet damage based on weapon type.
AR-small resistance
SMG-better resistance
Pistol-what is boolet
Don’t know if its been posted before but something needs to be done with heavys
Why would you make a game where movement and speed are advertised as key for being sucessful in the game but make a class that doesnt have great movement or speed?
Yes working as a team helps significantly BUT this is the internet not many bright ppl out there specially during a freeweekend
That would require a whole lot of new codes to be implemented into the game, assuming that at the moment bullets from each individual gun deal their same respected damage to all body types.
It is much easier to edit health, especially after they added Health to netvar.

Meaning they probably took all 200 bullets to take you down. I’d say that is a reasonable trade.

How are gun buffs which the Heavy is solely eligible for not a buff to the heavy?
I don’t really have a problem with his other weapons, but the Gatling Gun, in some defensive positions, is an absolute joke. Think defense on container city.
I’m more than aware of the spread values, but much like an SMG is frequently superior to an Assault Rifle in engagements of middling distances (simply due to rate of fire and being able to move quickly without totally destroying accuracy), the gatling gun is frequently better or equal to rifles at all but major distances. It’ll spray a huge area, but some will hit, and it’s very hard to aim a rifle when getting hit by gatling gun ammo.
I would agree that light also felt like easy mode (haven’t played it since the patch), but some aspects of the heavy are very, very difficult to counter in some positions atm. Namely with Kevlar, damage buff & gatling.
